To defeat Trump & the Texas GOP, we need big organizing.

So this campaign has built an unstoppable coalition — to make 100s of 1000s of voter contacts & send @RepMcCaul to early retirement.

We've won every competitive endorsement in #TX10!

A thread to describe this coalition: Image
@RepMcCaul @CWAUnion @NUHW @sunrisemvmt @WorkingFamilies @BoldProgressive @BrandNew535 @JoltAction @cleanh2oaction @TexasAFLCIO @OurRevolution Political change starts with local organizing. We are honored to have the support of every Democratic club in Austin & Houston in this race.

These include @Area5Dems, the oldest Democratic club in Texas, and Democrats from across Austin and Travis County! #SiegelForTexas ImageImageImageImage
@RepMcCaul @CWAUnion @NUHW @sunrisemvmt @WorkingFamilies @BoldProgressive @BrandNew535 @JoltAction @cleanh2oaction @TexasAFLCIO @OurRevolution @Area5Dems Winning in Texas requires a broad, multi-racial, multi-ethnic coalition.

We are honored to have the support of @BADATXDemocrats, with members engaged across #TX10.

And we are honored to have the endorsement of @JoltAction, the largest progressive Latino organization in Texas! ImageImage

Wonderful turnout in Austin yesterday for our campaign kickoff!

This is how we win swing districts like #TX10: massive voter outreach with a grassroots army, sharing a progressive message of opportunity & justice for all.

Election is March 3 — let's get to work! #siegelfortexas ImageImageImage
To defeat Rep. McCaul in #TX10, it won't be money that does it (he's worth $300m). But he can't buy people.

Over 200 joined us this Saturday, signing up for hundreds of volunteer shifts to meet voters across the district.

This is how we win! Image
I'm honored to count on the support of a growing coalition of diverse Texans. Yesterday we were joined by parents and union organizers, business owners and activists.

We are in this fight for many reasons, but we have a common goal: real representation. #siegelfortexas ImageImageImageImage

A #TX10 YEAR IN REVIEW

DC "wisdom" says a Congressional campaign should raise money, send out mail, buy TV ads, repeat.

I've committed to running a campaign that takes direct action for the community year-round, election year and off year. Here's what we accomplished in 2019:
#1 FIGHTING VOTE SUPPRESSION

In 2018 we made national news standing up for the voting rights of students of Prairie View A&M, a historically-black college in Waller County in #TX10.

msnbc.com/rachel-maddow/…

In 2019, we took action again...
2019 started with interim Texas Secretary of State David Whitley trying to purge 95,000 naturalized citizens--predominantly Mexican-American--from the voter rolls.

We mobilized folks from across #TX10 oppose Whitley's confirmation. And we won!

You know you’re on the right track when the National Republican Campaign Committee calls you out sixteen months before the election.

Last year they ignored me. This year they want to insult me—but instead just spill the beans, showing what they are scared of. #TX10 (1/6) Image
The #1 rule of Republican 2020 campaigning: every Democrat is a “socialist.”

They think using that word will stop us from fighting for healthcare for every American; for a national jobs program; for good schools and a sustainable environment.

They’re wrong. #siegelfortexas (2/)
The 2nd attack is “loser.”

Of course, if they thought I was a loser, why would the NRCC bother designing a PR strategy against me? #TX10 (3/)

This afternoon, one of my regional field directors was arrested in Waller County while delivering a letter to the County Judge.

The letter demanded immediate action to protect the voting rights of students at Prairie View A&M University.

Press release is attached. #TX10 (1/4) ImageImage
“No one should face hostility when they are trying to have their voice heard by their own government. This extreme reaction by Waller County officials is unacceptable, but sadly not surprising given the county’s long history of abusing power and voting rights violations."(2/4)
“We demand that all charges against Jacob be dismissed. We also recognize that Jacob has the full force of a congressional campaign and a political party to defend his rights. Unfortunately, everyday Texans don’t have that support, but that’s why I’m running for office." (3/4)

The lack of investment in Harris County flood control infrastructure reflects on a national issue: a lack of leadership, and a lack of courage, to confront real problems that affect real people.

Thank you @HoustonChron for covering our Town Hall! (1/4)

chron.com/neighborhood/k…
"Siegel, who hosted the town hall, said while many people and individual local, state and federal agencies did important work to rescue and support flood victims, one item is noticeably lacking from the agenda..." (2/4)
“The problem is there’s no national strategy. There’s no ‘big picture,’” Siegel said. “Which agency is in charge of designing a flood control strategy? Which officials ensure that all of these pieces are working together? The answer is, unfortunately, no one.” (3/4)

The #TX10 “representative” Michael McCaul supports the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, an absurd bill that would disenfranchise Texans and reduce gun sense regulations to the least common denominator. We must hold him accountable.
McCaul “earns” an “A” rating from @NRA based on his commitment to vote for gun manufacturers over the safety of his constituents. Isn’t it time for a change?
I support common sense gun regulations that would keep military weapons out of civilian hands. I also support campaign finance reform - we can’t allow allow @NRA to purchase our elected representatives. siegelfortexas.org/issues/
