It was 1890 CE. India was under the British rule.

Hamilton Bower is a British army officer. He is sent to Kucha (China) on a secret mission in search of a murderer.

He goes to Kucha and takes help of a local person to guide him. Local guide takes him to an old place.

The #SilkRoute in #China got bifurcated at Kashgar creating North and South routes ultimately meeting at Dunhuang (See the map below)

This route gave birth to "Central Asia", a logical unit on the physical map of Asia 🙂

These kingdoms, cities and other places became the halting places for the travelers.

They helped transmitting #Sanskrit texts, thoughts, ideas, literature, art and culture from #India to not only Central Asia and #China but also to East Asia.
