Snowdrop is just being hated for a wrong reason. gathamchun is the reason of that petition. he twist, exaggerate, & spread fake news on his twitter posts but non viewers belive it coz it looks legit. but if you compare his posts to what was shown in the 2 episodes, you will >>
know that he is just brainwashing people to ignite anger. there is no glorification in there. that is why people SHOULD WATCHED IT themselves and not just believed on BIASED posts. Here's an unbiased thread on what's actually shown in the 2 episodes of snowdrop: >>
1.) NSA People - based in the 2 episodes, Gang-Mu is a hot headed guy and is obsess in capturing the north korean spy named taedong river 1. his character didn't touch the domestic events like protests etc., he is after the nk who infiltrate seoul & when they had the chance >>

The family of Park Jong-cheol, who was the student who died after brutal water torture by the NSA, has spoken out about how #Snowdrop is causing harm to victims of the NSA.
Park’s family point out that there are still-living families of those who were accused of being North Korean spies and tortured, and the drama recreates the narrative that was used against victims
Essentially, it justifies why the NSA did what they did.

#Snowdrop ep. 2 features an NSA agent attempting to interrogate naked girls in a sauna, and getting rebuffed. She acquiesces and leaves.

Kim Geun-tae, an activist who was actually arrested in a sauna by the NSA, was tortured so badly he developed Parkinson’s.
You may think what you see in #Snowdrop makes the NSA look bad, and ask, “how is this glorification?”

Just stop and ask yourself the same question a little differently: “if this is glorification, then how bad was reality?”
Thanks, I will keep doing what I do. Thanks for the encouragement!

Actress Eugene Jung, who plays NSA agent Jang Hanna on #Snowdrop, reblogging ppl praising her for looking cool and badass on the show.

She plays someone who kidnapped and tortured people for a living.
Would you say “wow, great job! You’re so scary” or would you say “damn you looked so cool and badass as Hitler!”

Which one sounds more appropriate?
If you agree and reblog people saying “you look cool and badass” when you’re literally playing a torture agency thug, is that not you participating in a glorification of the torture agency?

It really cannot get more blatantly red scare propaganda than this - this dialogue between characters on tonight’s episode of #Snowdrop
Seeing Soo-ho (NK spy pretending to be college student
Yeongro: I think he got chased after he was protesting 😭😭 we have to hide him
Hyeryeong: are u crazy? They say he’s a spy!
Jungmin: He’s no spy! That’s just the lies the police tell us all the time.
Worth pointing out that “Jungmin” is the roommate that is the hardcore student activist (they gave her short hair and glasses because activism means you do not have time to get glam) - and Jungmin is the one who says “that’s just police propaganda”

Sponsors cancelling their sponsorship and demanding their products be removed from #Snowdrop after being contacted by Korean fans
- clothing brand g*******
- organic grain brand ss******
- **** electronics

(Censoring names bc I don’t want them to receive backlash)
The grain company rep was particularly apologetic. They were ashamed that their products had been used in Snowdrop as they themselves had been a part of democratization protests in their youth. They added they had also signed the petition.
One clothing brand B******* replied that they had never sponsored Snowdrop, but had been listed erroneously. They added that their lawyer was contacting the production to request a correction.

Snowdrop is a drama that distorts Korea's democratization movement into a case of espionage. At that time, tens of thousands of innocent people were killed by the state power. Please don't watch this drama that distorts democracy in Korea.
#snowdrop #설강화 ImageImageImage
This drama, which distorted and glorified the situation at the time when human rights were violated, is nothing more than a Nazist film. Watching this drama is like watching a glorified Nazi movie.
#Snowdrop #설강화 Image
If you are curious about the real situation that happened in Korea in 1987, you should watch the movie '1987'. The 'Snowdrop' is a fake historical hoax drama. Moreover, they are maliciously distorting history.

I can’t count the number of times I’ve been asked this question so I’m gonna post this for future reference

Q. Why didn’t the Blue House just shut down #Snowdrop if it’s so problematic?
“Then why was there a petition?”
“Idk why is there a White House petition asking to remove Trisha Paytas from social media?”
Like people can make whatever fucking petitions they feel like bro

“Nothing to do with history” and yet the president is the spitting image of this fucking fucker eh
“Maybe the NSA director is actually a villain?”
Well thus far he is constantly shown to be uncomfortable, conflicted, henpecked, and all-around a sympathetic dude just not suited to the murderer-torturer lifestyle
We are right on track for this baybee

He definitely said some words at the presscon that were pretty meaningless. He tried to argue “we’re just using the setting, this isn’t about history, it’s a fictional romance.” Meanwhile every single character description mentions concrete historical events.
The company also tried to argue back in March that the drama is about the 1987 election, not the 1987 student protests (aka the June Struggle). This argument is complete nonsense.

Because we see it for what it is. Because we lived and learned this history and we know what is happening in Korea right now. Because this is not just fiction *to us.*
If you don’t understand then stay in your lane.

Jung Hae-in, in an interview for #Snowdrop
“I was born in 1988 so 1987 is a time I’ve not experienced directly. There are a lot of dramas based on that time but I think that the answers are all in the script.”
Buddy I too was born after 1987 but that “time” did not immediately end when 1987 became 1988 wtf are you smoking bestie 😭😭😭😭😭 this is like a Korean kid saying “I was born in 2003 so idk who King Sejong is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯”
“The answers are in the script” you’re a grown-ass man read a fucking history textbook

TIL that defending my parents’ innocence is “overreacting and gatekeeping”
Me: My parents were protesters who were imprisoned and assaulted. But they were politically engaged students, not NK spies. This drama perpetuates a harmful narrative!

“A man who only walked on one path to catch the bad guys” who works for the NSA

Fucker let me tell you what the NSA did to scores of innocent people
#snowdrop #설강화
The NSA was created in the early 80s because its predecessor, the KCIA, was tainted by the fact that its own chief had assassinated the longrunning dictator Park Chung-hee. It’s been compared to the KGB in terms of its farreaching powers of info collection and investigation.
It’s the institution that popularized the Russian word “ФРА́КЦИЯ” in Korea (meaning “faction”) because their classic tactic was to send infiltrators into student movement groups to cause friction, and plant false evidence to frame students FOR BEING SPIES.
