April ‘22 Press Conference
Scott Morrison is asked why he has refused to follow the advice of his Public Servants.

His answer:
“Public Servants don’t run the government”
“Prime Ministers & their Ministers run governments.”

Wish he gave that answer at the #RobodebtRC
Sadly for Scummo, #IRemember this one.
This one was for not following the advice of ASIO. But he had spoken about his refusal to follow the advice of other public servants before too; such as with Sports Australia in the wake of Bridget’s #SportsRorts scandal.

But now everything is the PS’ fault apparently.

Is PM Scott Morrison a liar? It's a question that is being asked now on the international stage.

A Crikey investigation reveals the answer is, "yes", the PM is a systemic and unremitting public liar.

And we've got the proof:

#scottytheliar #auspol
Back in May, we published #ScoMosDossier – a list of lies and falsehoods delivered by the prime minister since he took office, on issues of national importance.

Since then, the list has grown.

Here's why we published the list:

@australian 23 March #BrittanyHiggins is raped in the office of the Minister of Defence, Linda Reynolds by Bruce Lehrmann. Lehrmann had worked for Reynolds at one time. The office is quite near Morrison’s.

As soon as word travels, the office is cleaned.

1/
@australian At some time Ms Higgins is called for a meeting IN THE ROOM WHERE THE RAPE OCCURRED

4 April a meeting between Reynolds’ office & 2 others to nut out what was to be done.

5 April Lehrmann’s PH employment is terminated. Now, keep that date in mind. It’s important.

2/
@australian #ScottyTheGaslighter invites media to watch him pray. Sure thing. 21 April it rolls on up. Through the campaign, it’s been gleefully going along with the 🧢🍺 bad-Labor shtick. Meanwhile #CarparkRorts is occurring (#SportsRorts on steroids) @JoshFrydenberg knew all about it.

National #Integrity Commission update!

In Feb, we spoke with His Honour Anthony Whealy QC and Federal Independent for Indi @helenhainesindi. Watch that discussion here:

We caught up with Anthony again last week for an update: .
The Gmt committed to introduce a #FederalICAC in 2018 and again in 2019 prior to the last federal election. But:

❌ no Gmt bill has yet been tabled in the federal parliament;
❌ the Gmt has made no allowance in the recent federal budget for implementing an integrity body; and
❌ we have heard nothing in response to the many submissions on their model for a federal integrity commission.

By contrast, @helenhainesindi has introduced her own private member's bill but the Gmt has not allowed parliament to debate it.

Last year I asked the Auditor-General to investigate the Morrison Government’s commuter car park program.

His report has just been tabled.

It has shocked me.

This is sports rorts on an industrial scale.

THREAD
This program was always about buying votes, not addressing the real needs of suburban commuters.

It’s the centrepiece of a $4.8 billion fund, the Urban Congestion Fund, that has also been mired in controversy for project delays and delivering 83% of its funding to target seats.
With #carparkrorts it’s a staggering 87% of funds to Coalition or target seats.

(Amazing when you the remember Labor holds the majority of urban seats.)

Due perhaps to a selection process including Liberal MPs!

What are you likely to get if you vote LNP at the next election?

You may end up getting a pay cut. They'll be emboldened to implement industrial relations reform (aka Workchoices 2).

What will you be able to do about it after the election? Nothing.

Put LNP last on every ballot
What are you likely to get if you vote LNP at the next election?

You may end up having your superannuation obliterated. Too bad if you were looking forward to having a comfortable retirement.

Hope you enjoy working until you drop.

The continuation of the incarceration of children on Christmas Island. They have been there over 1000 days. How would you feel if they were related to you?

We can fix this.

Sport Australia has redacted the entire list of #sportsrorts projects whose agreements were signed after the notional 30 June 2019 deadline. All they give is dates, the rest is subject to public interest immunity claim. #auspol
So we won't know which the 290 ineligible projects that got funding were - see this story:
theguardian.com/australia-news…
To clarify - this isn't a freedom of information request, this is an answer to a question on notice to the Senate sports grants inquiry. Still, terrible, and their response to FOI probs would've been even worse.

IDK how many feel as I do that the Morrison lead government will not bring out #Budget2021
For all thinking people it appears the we are now in an undeclared Federal election campaign
The impact of the Opposition`s attack on all of Morrison`s failures
2
has finally cut through
Media cannot find positives to promote this LNP government any further
A further eroding of the Democratic process in shutting down debate in #HoR question time cannot be defended by the #MSM, nor can it be glossed over
3
Also, the impact of the new US Biden admin with it`s #NetZeroBy2050 & return to the #ParisAgreement will see Morrison not only further sidelined by global powers it will see him totally isolated in #ClimateChangeDenialism

The impact on reducing #covidstimulus

Hey @David_Speers

Just over a year ago the #Greens Federal ICAC passed the @AuSenate with only the Morrison government voting against it. If there was any desire to establish a Federal #ICAC from the Morrison government they would have brought our bill on for a vote, but they still haven’t #AusPol
In February of this year, the @AuSenate again voted to compekl the Morrison government to bring on our #ICAC bill for a vote in the House of Reps. Again, nothing happened #AusPol

Hey @sussanley

Today you announced another $200 million for recycling

I've got a few questions for you....just want to make sure I've got my facts right.

This announcement was made at The Pact Group, right?
Here's a pic of you, Trevor Evans & Sanjay Dayal at Pact

Now, is that the same Pact Group that recorded a shock $320 million half-year loss in Feb 2019?

What's their annual report looking like this year?

Where are PACT getting the hundreds of millions of dollars from for this investment?

Senator McKenzie's office resisted, claiming the Kennedy project was "a very important one for the region" and the sport minister was due to visit the seat...

It may seem slightly trivial but it's a highly unusual thing to do when signing a legal document. Official docs are to be signed in blue or black ink

With some normalcy returning to the parliament, the scandal surrounding a pre-election cash splash on community sporting clubs is once again bubbling to the surface. #abc730 @latingle #sportsrorts #auspol
Paper trail now shows PM’s office instructing McKenzie to get its approval on grants; & that @ScottMorrisonMP office intervened to have specific applications approved; & that PM’s office told McKenzie’s office to discuss grants with @LiberalAus machine. @latingle #abc730 #auspol
That not only gives the @ScottMorrisonMP a case to answer but runs against his statement to parliament in February that it was @senbmckenzie who had the power to authorise grants. @latingle #abc730 #auspol #sportsrorts

If we loose the entire conference season - as looks likely - we are going to have to find alternatives. Perhaps @AcademicsLaw and @legalscholars could explore virtual conferences/workshops this year - with the advantage of inherent international collaboration
Given the theme of the @AcademicsLaw conference is the future of the legal academy, this seems particularly appropriate
I would love to have an e-workshop on twitter and the law - I know there was a US conference on this theme a few years back -i think @lawprofblawg was involved
