Though shocked at the number of students in that classroom who were quick to say the victim, was to blame, we could not help but admire the courage of that one boy, who stood his ground and boldly condemned rape. Only the rapist is to blame.
This incident was a great teaching moment. The information children are exposed to via the society constantly seeks to blame victims of abuse and encourage rape culture. From family values, to media, religion etc. It is our duty to give them the right information.
