It wasn't evident of first but one of those killed is an associate director of the defence manufacturer/developer Raytheon. It recently won a contract to make new arms for #Ukraine.

2/10 First by popular req. a full overview map of the current(8 aug) frontlines west of the #Inhulets river. As we can see there have been some (small) shifts in the overall line. As you can see i have included known 🇷🇺 defensive pos. and some published 🇺🇦 pos. Some details ⬇️
3/10 First we look at the sit. around #Stanislav. 🇷🇺VDV reinforcements arrived 15-7,and started a push toward #Oleksandrivka pushing 🇺🇦 back across the coastal road W and N taking control of the town. 45th Spetnaz are active here. 🇺🇦 are using art. & tank fire to stop the advance
#Kherson western front update. After my last update friday there has been significant action by 🇺🇦 forces. Where i said #Pravdyne was contested today it's confirmed. liberated by 126th TDF subsequently #Myrne was also liberated. This is the situation IMO.

🇷🇺 forces where forced to retreat toward #sofiivka & #Tomynabalka to avoid being encircled. A large number of vehicles and personel where destroyed during heavy artillery fire on retreating forces. FIRMS shows alot of fires along this route. 🇷🇺 positions @ #Doslidne got hit hard.
According to sources on the ground #Stanislav has been liberated since friday after 🇷🇺 forces fell back to defensive positions W of #Shyrokabalka. 28th Mech & 136th Marines are containing 🇷🇺 forces & trying to encircle them by moving toward #Tomynabalka cutting of escape routes.

#Oleksandrivka area, according to my source in the area 🇺🇦 forces mainly 137th MC and SOF conducted operations and liberated #Stanislav. Mopping op. ongoing in area to the east. 🇷🇺 forces (DPR & VDV) fell back to #Shyrokabalka and will setup defenses near #Tomynabalka.
Toward #Pravdyne 🇷🇺 counter attacked and took up defensive position on the W/SW side. 🇺🇦 forces are attacking daily with drone assisted M777's and MLRS.

New update on the situation on the western side of the #Kherson front. 🇺🇦 forces have made some progress in certain parts of the front, 🇷🇺 forces launched counter attacks around #Pravdyne & #kyselivka. 🇺🇦 took ground direction of #Ivanivka More info read 🧵

Direction of #Oleksandrivka 🇺🇦 have consolditated their positions and have moved on the open ground between #Pravdyne & the #Stanislav pocket towards #Tomynabalka. According to sources clashes occured 5 km. west of town where 🇷🇺 troops are dug in. FIRM data seems to confirm this.
Further more 🇺🇦 forces are conducting attacks on an area north of #Stanislav where remaining VDV units are trying to hold the advance and keep coastal road T1501 open for re-supply. A push from #Oleksandrivka toward #Stanislav however is expected to happen within a few days.
Another update 🧵 for the situation which is developing on the western side of the #Kherson front. 🇺🇦 Forces have been making progress in almost all area's of this front and they are about 10 km from #Kherson city. More info read 🧵

Previously 🇷🇺 occupied towns #Oleksandrivka, #Soldatske, #Myrne seem to be liberated and mop up operations are ongoing in these area's. Also 🇺🇦 forces have reached #Tomnyabalka and are squizing 🇷🇺 troops in the #Stanislav pocket cutting supply routes south of #Tomnyabalka.
Troops caught in the #Stanislav pocket consist of LPR/DNR conscript troops,VDV units & photo's on social media show units of the 22 Guards Spetznas transferred to the area after fighting @ #Mariupol. Source confirms VDV snipers 5 km north of #Shyrokabalka engaged by 🇺🇦artillery.
Since nightfall, we have seen signs of a #Russian counteroffensive in the #Kherson region where previously, RU forces had been content to resist #Ukraine's much touted offensive in the region that has yet to achieve any significant advance. RU forces may be going to the the coast
and the Halytsynove area (where they had been earlier in the war), in order to cut off UA forces fighting to take Oleksandrivka and #Stanislav. Indeed, around the same time we see the latter was shelled. It is also possible that RU forces are simply advancing north along the bank
headlong into the UA offensive, but more likely that they are attacking from the east, towards the Ukrainian flank as they attack south towards Stanislav. We shall see what if anything results from these actions, which seem like an escalation in scale from what we have seen in
Yesterday, #Russian sources released intel that #Ukraine was planning a large offensive of 32 BTGs (~20k men) in the #Kherson region. UA's supply lines here are much shorter & stronger than in Donbass & RU's air superiority much less. It seems to have started in the last 3 hours.
Being able to push back Russia east across the Dnieper would be a great achievement by UA forces. On the other hand, even making Russia divert forces from the Donbass to hold the line would be helpful to #Ukraine. Since they have so much trouble getting men & supplies to the east
and in fact so many units now that refuse to fight in the east, this tactically would make sense for Ukraine. The only suspicion comes from the announcement yesterday by Russian sources. If it indeed it was a leaked secret, than the Russians have a heads up, but it seems UA
