Let's understand:

#StatueOfUnity was built by the Indian Govt. in remembrance of India's one of the most charismatic yet most underrated leader Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Sardar Patel is well known for integration of more than 500 provinces at the time of independence, which becomes part of Independent India.

Due since long time Indian government paid a tribute as #StatueOfUnity to him.
A particular section of liberal people started there agenda to undermine this work, Dhruv Rathee was one of them.

Even before inauguration he started his paid work and started criticizing the work through various means.

Yesterday i visited world's biggest statue and talking about the user experience that comes with this Incredibly huge 182 m high national monument, we came across this. Obviously looking at these pictures, we'd blame our people and our ethics. But there's more to it.
That people aren't the only ones to be blamed but the government is at fault too. As architecture students, we're failed by our jurors and faculty for incomplete work. Then how do you open a world record breaker monument to the public with half planned proposals? #StatueOfUnity
Did they really want people to visit the monument? We were standing 3 hours straight in the heat on the road for 16 buses that'd cater to approximately 10k people at a time since private vehicles weren't given direct entry clearly highlighting lack of parking provision.

Came across this article from @the_hindu wrt #StatueOfUnity which I find completely baseless. It reflects Author’s lack of knowledge about subject hence I give a rebuttal in thread below. Author may counter. @DikshitSmita @shakkuiyer @Shubhrastha…
2/n The author says that Sardar would have been revolted by the amount of money that has been wasted on @souindia . Now that he reads the minds of leaders so well can he throw some light on Statue of Gandhi’s opinion on his Statue in Patna (2013).
3/n If I haven’t mistaken Bapu was way more modest than Sardar (as per all greats like @Ram_Guha ). So how would have he reacted for 22m high Statue that too for 35 cr in such a prime location of Gandhi Maidan? Let’s now do some maths on it. Refer attached images.

1/n I read this article by @dhruv_rathee promoted by @ShekharGupta ji & must say while he has wrongly mixed various aspects while arguing against #StatueofUnity Dhruv below is my rebuttal. Care to reply. Cc @vivekagnihotri @shakkuiyer @RatanSharda55 @Shubhrastha @prafullaketkar
2/n @dhruv_rathee u say it will add to the symbolical & rhetoric pride that #Indians like to reveal in these days. Then first tell me what’s ur nationality?Arent’t u Indian since u don’t see pride in it? (Ur Rhetoric#1).
Let’s move on though.
3/n Since u call it a rhetorical Indian pride then what the hell was Statue of Spring, Statue of Liberty, Statue of Motherland Calls, Christ the Reedeemer doing considering 2 are direct religious expression?U must clear ur stand on this because this shall only place ur argument

Read this again and again 👇 #StatueOfUnity

//Patel’s ancestors had no right to education till the British arrived in India. They never wrote about themselves & others did not write about them. Patel &his elder brother, Vithalbhai, were the first in his family to go to school.//
Article hit it very hard on shudras to realize the status of them in the indian caste and political system. Here few remarkable lines.

1. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, always headed by Brahmins, admires Patel because he did not disturb the varna order.
2. Gandhi and Nehru wrote their own histories, leaving behind careful autobiographies. But Patel did not do this. He must have thought that his family history and his own history were not worth writing.
