Yesterday, we joined the #StopJackdaw week of action by raising local awareness at a Shell petrol station. We also visited @Cambridge_Uni's Department of Chemistry, who help Shell to research oil and gas extraction

Shell's Jackdaw gas field (in the North Sea) is the largest to be approved by the UK Government since the IEA reported that new fossil fuel projects are incompatible with liveable climate limits.
Jackdaw is too small to impact global gas prices, so it won't lower our energy bills, but it will create more pollution than Ghana's entire annual emissions. And it's being made possible by research at @Cambridge_Uni.
it's very exhausting to see white people write articles about how it's "too late" to stop climate breakdown - too late for who??? Every single fraction of a degree of warming we prevent is lives saved - especially in the Global South. It's never too late.
