Trigger warning: suicide

As Congress returns to Washington after summer recess today, it’s important to remember that it’s #SuicidePreventionWeek. Every day, 133 people die by suicide in the United States. This is a public health emergency.
Healthcare, including mental healthcare, is a human right. It’s long past time to pass Medicare for All to make sure all Americans have access to the mental health treatment and medications they need.
If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts, you can reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or the Crisis Text Line by texting TALK to 741741.
