Vaidyanathan argues there could be some evidence that the #Muslim side offered Friday prayers at the disputed site between 1857 & 1934. "But there is absolutely no evidence that they offered any prayer after that. On the other hand, #Hindus continued to worship".

In analysing the history of #Afghanistan, scholars and historians often assessed the independence and autonomy of a given region based on their ability to resist an imposition of tax. Paying levies was therefore the way power-relations and supremacy was understood. 5/N.K.
In this sense, the #Hazarajat as a whole was what scholars often deemed as a “semi-independent” region. By 1891, aside from #Uruzgan, every other region (14 districts) of the #Hazarajat paid taxes to Abdur Rahman Khan. 6/N.K.
Most regions throughout the #Hazarajat were headed by ‘mirs’ or ‘khans’ and a system of feudalism operated throughout this sphere. 7/N.K.

THE MIDDLE EAST | WHO’S FIGHTING WHO?

Confused the USA has been training, financing, supplying & assisting people w/ exactly the same beliefs as those who flew planes into the Twin Towers on 9/11 2001?

It is also seeking with Saudi Arabia to destroy those who are fighting them.
THE MIDDLE EAST | WHO’S FIGHTING WHO?

Opposing terrorism:

The Houthi fighters in Yemen are Shi’ite Muslims.

Their opponents in Yemen are Sunni Muslim jihadists, devotees of the Salafi movement which arose in response to Western European imperialism in the late 19th century.
THE MIDDLE EAST | WHO’S FIGHTING WHO?

The Salafi movement has its roots in the 18th century Wahhabi movement which originated in Saudi Arabia as did those who attacked the Twin Towers in New York on 9/11 2001.

Therefore you might think the USA would side w/ the Houthis.

Wrong.

For years till now, the Americans have not realized the extent of the mistakes they have repeatedly made with regard to the tribes file particularly in #DeirEzzor.
Since the #SDF started their battles against Daesh in #DeirEzzor, they have begun forming a lobby of tribal figures in Deir Ezzor to be under their wing, but unfortunately these tribal figures,
who appear every time with the personalities visiting the region are only for filming and photography and has no real influence in the sense of the tribe or the clan,

There is a compelling case for categorizing attacks on #Hazara as acts of terrorism & war, not only sectarianism. #Pakistani Hazara & the State are embroiled in a complex situation that demands recognition & full disclosure. /2

(1) I do not know what to think of the #Obama Iran scandal.

It simply does not make sense. Obama is a Sunni apologist and a supporter of the #MB which is a #Sunni Islamist movement.

Shi'a ideologues in Iran politically and religiously oppose Sunni ideologies.
(2) Obama's alleged father in Kenya and his family (purportedly from the Luo ethnic group - despite that he looks like a Somali) were/are adherents of Sunni Islam.

The majority of Obama's Muslim backers in the US and abroad - are Sunni, not Shi'a. And for those of you who ....
(3) are not familiar with Islam, the ideologues of the two different belief systems have polarized/juxtaposed positions in most all cases. They also have an inherent religious loyalty or "backbone" which is inflexible.

Consideration of the other "avenue of belief" is ....

in #Iraq, for the first time since 2003, the #Shia #Sunni #Kurds and #Turkmen were all divided this time prior to the selection of the Speaker, the President and the Prime Minister.
#USA pushed for its own candidate/coalition (Moqtada-Abadi).

#Iran pushed for the unity of all coalitions, Shia, Sunni and Kurds, in an attempted to unite all & produce leaders accepted by all. Iran also worked to bring down the US candidate/coalition.

The world (including Iraq) didn't realise that "no larger coalition has been nominated".

The reason is simple: Iran wanted to save the face and honor of Moqtada, he who joined a lost coalition, so #Iran Soleimani cam "bring him back" to where he belongs

#BreakingNews: #Iraq

In the next hour, the largest coalition, even if below 165, may be formed and will be resgistered tomorrow at the parliament. It all depend on one party (40 to 42) expected rto join Dawlat al-QWanoon and al-Fath (so far they have gathred 110).
#Iraq
I'll explain: #Kurds are not going to join any coalition tomorrow, waiting for the biggest coalition to register its name. Kurds have requests that won't be met this night. So their voices and seats won't be included.+

a Coalition of #Shia #Sunni will come together to form 150-152 MPs tomorrow (if Sunni sign this evening 40-42 MPs) and will be eligible to choose a Prime Minister.

Once this coalition is registered, Kurds will join in.

If this happen #USA will lose.

#Iraq: Unofficial election results show big loss for SOL of former PM Maliki. Also lost big time is al-Hikma of S. Ammar al-Hakim. Sadr Movement’s alliance strategy succeeded in adding more gains to those guaranteed by traditional loyalty. (1)
PM Abadi is a close winner, thanks to incumbency factor, use of gov. resources, & alliance wiyh big fish. But still, nowhere near how Maliki performed with same advantages in 2014. PM Abadi will need to make very painful compromises to secure 2nd term. (2)
The Fath (PMFs) coalition performed as expected. Popularity acquired by fighting against ISIS paid off very handsomely. Along with the Sadr Movement, they will have a special seat at the negotiation table. (3)
