It was an eventful day, #IndianArmy continued its advance in all sectors.
#Eastern: Sadipur ferry in Sylhet Sector was captured
#SouthWestern : Kushtia was attacked after heavy bombardment, enemy withdrew & objective was captured. #SwarnimVijayVarsh

#CentralSector : A a battalion group of 800 personnel & equipment was para-dropped at Tangail with a view to capture Lohajang Bridge & destroy enemy retreating from Jamalpur and Mymensingh.
The paradrop at Tangail along with the Indian Army's speedy advance unnerved the Pakistani commanders. This combined with messages to all levels of Pakistani Army to surrender resulted in the Governor of East Pakistan recommending a ceasefire to the Pakistani President.

The #BravestOfTheBrave paved the groundwork for victory at Gangasagar
Lance Naik Albert Ekka was in the left forward company of a battalion of the Brigade of Guards during their attack on the enemy defences at #Gangasagar on the Eastern Sector. This was a well-fortified position held in strength by the enemy.
The assaulting troops were subjected to intense shelling and heavy small-arms fire, but they charged onto the objective and were locked in bitter hand-to-hand combat. L/Nk Ekka noticed an enemy light machine-gun (LMG) inflicting heavy casualties on his company.
Smt Phool Wati Devi, w/o Late S S Malhan, Leading Mechanical Engineer (LME) paid homage to her husband on #01Dec 21 at #NationalWarMemorial.
She placed petals at the 'Tablet' and laid a wreath at Tyag Chakra (1/3).

#Longewala was held by a platoon of 14 BSF. However due to the looming war clouds, 'A' Compony, 23 PUNJAB under Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri was deployed in Oct 71. The rest of 23 PUNJAB (part of 45 Infantry Brigade) was deployed at Sadhewala.(2/n)

On 03 Dec #Pak 51 Brigade Group began to advance with 38 Cavalry & 22 Cavalry to capture Ramgarh & #Jaisalmer respectively. While the two armoured regiments reached Gabar (inside #Pak) by 0100h on 04 Dec, the rest of the forces could not. (3/n)
