.@JoeBiden has tapped retired Army General Lloyd Austin to serve as his #SecretaryOfDefense. There are many reasons why that is a problem. Image
General Austin sits on the board of directors at #Raytheon, a company that makes billions of dollars a year in profit from the wars overseas, and has done particularly well selling weapons to the Saudi government for their US-sponsored genocide in Yemen. Image
This appointment is a perfect example of the revolving-door relationship between the White House and lobbyists for major crony corporations like Raytheon and others. #Corruption Image

1)12 days B4 @NYT reported #Russia paid #Taliban a bounty to kill US troops, the nation's top military intelligence analyst, #AnthonySchilella, put a bullet in his head. Did he leak to NYT on #Trump's refusal to act? It would have gone thru him. @JoeBiden interc.pt/3job9Id
2) So now we have a bizarre #Putin-Like mystery on our hands. What reverberation or fear of retaliation would have set off #Schinella's suicide? Weeks from retirement . . . Was he placed in the impossible position of sticking with the truths he knew to be or lying?
3) The one fact that stands out. #Schinella knew. He was in the pipeline. He got it into #Intelligencebriefing for #POTUS in March, when it was first ignored. He knew the impact of the bounty on US lives and US morale. And he was stymied.

This morning, I released a new staff report exposing how the #TrumpAdmin wasted $500+ million in taxpayer funds & cost the American people ventilators b/c of a disastrous deal negotiated by senior officials. Here's the #thread⬇️
oversight.house.gov/news/press-rel…
As Chair of @OversightDems' Subcmte on Economic & Consumer Policy, I launched an investigation to find out why we didn't have enough ventilators at the beginning of the #covid19 pandemic, despite a 2014 #ObamaAdmin contract w/ @PhilipsNA for 10K ventilators by 2019.
Under the Obama-era contract, @PhilipsNA was required to provide @HHS with 10K ventilators for $3,280 each by September 2019.
Instead of the #TrumpAdmin asking Philips to speed up production, they gave the company an EXTENTION to deliver ventilators by September 2022.

2. Under these rules, you could lose birth control coverage otherwise required by law simply because your boss has a personal religious objection to it. Your boss’s personal beliefs shouldn’t dictate the care you get.

“Today, we will examine the #TrumpAdmin’s inhumane policy of separating children from their parents at the southern border.”- Chairman @RepCummings
“I use the word inhumane for a reason. Separating children from their mothers and fathers causes lasting damage that may endure for the rest of their lives.”
“The #TrumpAdmin adopted this child separation policy intentionally—purposefully—as a tactic to deter people from coming to the United States and seeking asylum.”
