After four days of voting, membership has RATIFIED the March 9th Tentative Agreement 344-8. This ratification landslide and the gains of our new Collective Bargaining Agreement are a historic achievement for our union.

We bravely went on strike on Jan 31st and spent the next 42 days on strike. Administration cut our healthcare without notification, rescinded our tuition remission, threatened our visa status, and yet, the strike grew every day.

Hundreds of strikers courageously sent emails to their departments and administration notifying them of their decision to strike. We refused to be discouraged or intimidated, and we committed to staying on strike until we got a fair contract.

Today, TUGSA members finished voting on the Tentative Agreement reached with @TempleUniv on Friday. Membership voted over 92% to REJECT the agreement with over 83% of the membership voting. As a result, the strike will continue. We are ready to bargain tomorrow.

The terms of the Tentative Agreement provide for minimal raises, increasing the average TA/RA’s pay to around $21,500. By the end of the contract, in 2026, the average TA/RA will be making just over $23,600. (2/8)
On dependent care, the Tentative Agreement with @TempleUniv offered no monetary support. Temple says they will look into “more affordable plans” for dependents, but without any guarantees on when/how/or what this would entail. (3/8)
