Identify those you needs as shops & convert the rest into council houses that are retrofitted to the highest environmental standards so they are carbon neutral & they will alleviate fuel poverty.Poverty in general will be alleviated since there will be a cap on their rent! 1/
Initiate this council refurbishment programme, run by the council who employ the builders, fitters, plumbers, architects, etc. The council trains up the unemployed youth under apprenticeships geared towards these building programmes, as well as retraining older individuals. 2/
These endeavours are run and supervised by the workers and trade unions, not big business and the path of progress is democratically decided by your community. This will also reinvigorate town centres, where people will once again be living and proper communities will develop. 3/
