First, holy cow, what a luxurious game experience this is…we were hooked after the very first play! RETURN TO DARK TOWER, a full-on remake of the classic, by @RestorationGame. Plays like a board game, feels like an rpg. Outstanding all around!

Next, this very simple game plays a bit like Tetris, you try to make a patchwork quilt and collect buttons. Simple to learn but addictive as heck, we can’t stop playing it. Just finished a game, in fact! PATCHWORK by @Asmodee_USA. You will enjoy this a lot!

A lot of people have said gaming is an expensive hobby, and it really can be. Collectible games and KS games can run into the three figures easy.

I decided to look online and see if I could find a good deal on a box of games I knew NOTHING about.
The idea was to see if I could make a small starter game library for less than the cost of many big box games.
Yesterday the box arrived. THIRTY POUNDS OF GAMES.

No is paying me for any of these, nor did they send them like most of the games I receive. I looked at my favorite gaming bargain site, @Tabletop_Deals (I really do look every day) and found a sale and just ordered like a big goober.

Today’s #TeaGame for #TabletopGails is the lovely, calming GENTLE RAIN, from @MondoNews Games!
It’s a simple, enjoyable tile placement game that plays great solo or with more players.

Created by @kevinwilson42, you place matching tiles of a tranquil lake, and when you can match a square block of four, you place a round wooden ‘blossom’ in the center.
You have eight blossoms and must place them all before running out of tiles.

The ‘lies’ are really beautiful in themselves, so even if you ‘lose,’ it’s fun to play. It’s the only game where the instructions tell you to wear loose clothes and drink good tea, I think.

I was confused for a moment, because @wizkids also makes non-clip minis, and this doesn’t say Heroclix right away, but this game IS standalone, OR can be played with other Heroclix. It is from a recent mega-event in the comics (which I haven’t read yet!).

So, every day, either at breakfast or lunch, @rocketspouse and I, sometimes with Rocketkid, go out on our back patio and play a new game. We call these “Cup O’ Tea” games because they are quick to learn and we have them with a cup of tea. Here’s the view!

First, LAST WORD STANDING, by @chroniclebooks, a very high quality word/card game, with an interesting twist.
You form words not just from your own cards, but also those of the other players, and from ‘community’ cards.

Okay, so this lovely company that makes a lot of family games and puzzles, @ThinkFun, saw that we love Escape Room and mystery games, and sent this big lovely box...and I really want to talk about two of them that we freaking LOVED.

Both of these games are hit series, these are the specific sets we played...both are standalone AND expansion sets.

The thing is, the gaming has really helped my little family during quarantine. It's exercised our creativity, logic, imagination, and socialization. We have been loving it.

Even if you are not a huge fan of Monopoly, I have to say, we had a blast with this set.
First, we got rice crackers for snacks, we played Showa Era- Godzilla soundtracks for atmosphere, and it was just sheer kaiju fun from the minute we opened the box. Godzilla bucks!

There are two sure things with this company’s games...they are beautifully designed and the components are always top-flight.
You have six classic kaiju tokens and a first-class presentation of all the pieces. The board is also gorgeous.
