Anything is possible, but the big "turning point" threads about this on Twitter were both posted by verified accounts under real names who've been here for years (I'm not counting myself, I'm a latecomer)
If there is an astroturf campaign it either goes straight to the top or it's just riding the coattails of an organic shift, is what I'm saying

And I think it's silly to assume there's no way you can't have a bunch of organic new Twitter signups or reactivation of dormant ones
A lot of people legitimately don't use Twitter for a long time and then pick it up suddenly when they get really pissed off about an argument being had on here

Especially because everyone noticed that Twitter was WAY more one-sidedly #TeamSonya than any other platform

#TeamSonya, including Sonya Larson herself, are all fucking disgusting ableists and it's not being said enough.
We're still in the middle of a pandemic where almost a million Americans have died because at the beginning we as a society decided some people, like me, were not worth sacrificing their brunches for.
We as a society decided that certain people were expendable so we could maintain some pretense of normality.

So I guess I'm a huge hypocrite because I started out #TeamSonya too and now I'm screaming at everyone who was on Team Sonya they're going to hell

But, to be fair, when I first heard about this story I treated it as a mild amusement and didn't put much effort into discussing it
Just, like, "Wow everyone here's kind of a drama queen aren't they", "Ha well being so publicly obnoxious about something good you did isn't laudable behavior but neither is being so passive-aggressive about it"
Whereas my experience of becoming #TeamDawn has been one of literal shaking and tears and frustrated clenched-teeth red-faced rage
