This is less about winning hearts & minds as about preaching to the choir. If it is a success, it'll be to the extent that it challenges liberal ideas & ideals of what 'legitimate' activism looks like, in terms of what's actually achievable through our current institutional setup
This means channeling more people into disruptive activism. There's simply not the time remaining to make & disseminate the evidenced & well-reasoned arguments for necessarily radical social change in the hope of bringing everyone onboard (politicians & economic elites included)

When non-activists criticise groups like JSO for engaging in disruptive protest it's common for them to say they don't mind protest if it's done in a way that doesn't affect people going about their business. That's what activists have been doing this weekend. It doesn't work.
Campaigners say there have been 100,000 people in London protesting about climate change this weekend. And yet #TheBigOne is invisible across all bar 1 mainstream media front pages & so far totally ignored by the @BBCNews app, BBC Twitter & BBC Instragram accounts.

@JustStop_Oil are simply seeking to stop the government from going against ethics and justice by opening new fossil fuel infrastructure. They want a liveable future for our children and grandchildren. So do I.
There is a critical development. The plates and earthquakes have now been at a complete standstill since 2 nights ago. 3 near the blocking yesterday and everything else is dead silent. Plates have absolutely stopped all motion for 3 days. Never ever happened before.
After all these months of posting about the plate blocking, it's starting to look like something massive is starting to happen. What you see above is what is without a single doubt going to plunge the world into its first global cataclysm in ages.
Area from Australia through all of Asia, Europe and Africa has been completely frozen for 3 days. By far the biggest slowdown I have seen. This blocking is progressing fast. I'm warning, this is a serious warning sign about how soon this global rupture may be happening.

1/ Throughout the 1940s in British Mandatory Palestine, tensions were high. After the war, the Jewish militias launched full-throated attacks against the British to get them to evacuate Palestine. The Jews were ready for a state of their own.
2/ In 1946, the lesser known Morrison-Grady partition plan was proposed by the British, which proposed British trusteeship over two autonomous regions of Palestine - one for the Jews, one for the Arabs. This plan was promptly panned.
I know it’s been a scary time for central and south California with the major earthquakes and fore/after-shocks.
