This article came out the other day showing a bug where you could catch up to Tommy in #TheLastofUsPart2. I thought it would be fun to use this as a springboard to talk about why that can happen and how the sequence is made in general! thread kotaku.com/the-last-of-us… via @kotaku
This sequence actually started off as a systemic prototype for a sniper enemy I made way back in 2016. This person was going to live in a number of levels and they would reposition if they saw you too close to them.
Running away they would seek a high perch and their friends would try to route you out to give them a better shot. It felt fun!

Έχοντας τερματίσει πλέον το παιχνίδι, ήρθε η ώρα για μερικές σκέψεις, και ένα evaluation: The Last of Us 2.

Y si querés, comentar el tuyo. ignacioesains.com/post/an%C3%A1l… Image

Another sneak peak into real-time muscle deformation tech we developed to ground our characters in the world of #TheLastofUsPart2 . following footage is captured from the game engine in slo-mo mode.  [tech thread] 1/5 #gamedev #maya3d
this was init prototype, whole rig is auto generated. evaluating skin+shape on multiple character in realtime is expensive, so approach we took is more towards Muscle training n Joint rig reconstruction. system needs base joint and seq of animated mesh to build final rig 2/5
I know what you're thinking, first proto is a DOG @Naughty_Dog (bad pun)but it was just a coincident. System is mesh/deformation agnostic. Next test was, If I can create procedural cloth rig? and voila! unfortunately this couldn't make it to final game(more on that in future) 3/5

Since multiple people have asked. The following thread will be about the creation of the sound for “Breaking Glass” in the #TheLastofUsPart2. This was one of the first systems I dove into at ND. 1/23
The system for glass is made up of many different layers and a few systems that interweave together to give the unique sound and the right feeling. Thank you to @robkrekel l for letting me run with this so early on. 2/23
Getting the right sound for the glass was only the first part of the job but the “feel” of breaking the glass was what I spent most of my time on. I felt the glass needed to be separated into layers to have the glass feel as realistic as possible. 3/23
