For months @cceanv has publically ridiculed @NSEAOnline & #TimeFor20 campaign.
CCEA's hatred runs so deep that their sudden about-face on salary raises now sees them raising their ask from 10% to 18%, 2% shy of what NSEA has been fighting for months to get teachers. (1/?)
And if you ask CCEA why they settled on 18% & not 20%, they probably spin a tale about how costly that extra 2% is.

A 20% raise would cost ~$312,421,079.96
An 18% raise would cost ~$308,714,918.73

That difference is ~$3,706,161.23 per year or ~$7,412,322.46 for 2 years. (2/?)
Let's quickly review how we got here.

In December 2022, CCEA attack chihuahua Jessica Jones wrote an op-ed on behalf of CCEA that #TimeFor20 would be too costly for the state.

In case you don't remember that piece, here it is:

For decades, Nevada severely underfunded education, while educators in districts struggled to hold it together. #nvleg
Then the pandemic hit and exposed and worsened the crisis in Nevada schools. Low pay and morale resulted in record numbers of educator departures. Already overcrowded classrooms were doubled and tripled up. Bus routes were canceled, stranding students for hours.
Educators across the state called out for help. A year ago, @NSEAOnline launched #TimeFor20 for a 20% raise, at least $20/hr for those who make schools run, and average class sizes of 20 students— what educators believe is needed to give schools a chance to succeed.
