The constitutional amendments just signed into law by President @MBuhari offer a hopeful example of the benefits of constitutional #restructuring of Nigeria, of which I have been a strong and unapologetic advocate. Giving states powers to establish railways and to generate,
transmit/distribute electricity will help the economy of our country greatly. I hope states can smartly take advantage of this salutary development. But this is only a beginning really. At issue: should we negotiate a completely new constitution for Nigeria agreed by its peoples?
I think we should, because that is what will best repair the broken trust between Nigerians, and between them and the Nigerian state as a construct. #ToBuildaNation where peace and Justice will reign, the agreement of its constituent parts and ethnic nationalities is essential.

Nigeria can’t navigate the future successfully without a reckoning with its past. We need to look into the Amalgamation of 1914 and the events of 1966-1970, recognize how these events turned Nigeria into a progressively failing Union, and take steps to reposition for success.
Successful nations don’t just happen. They are built. Justice, equity are key, plus adjustments of structural foundations where necessary. Else, we will keep running around in circles. America today is confronting a reckoning with a it history after #GeorgeFloyd .
And it’s #1619Project , revisiting history from the first arrival of slaves in Virginia and how the institution of slavery shaped America. This is part of the pursuit of “a more perfect union”. It can be controversial. It can be painful. But it’s necessary. #ToBuildaNation

The biggest challenge we face is to build a nation. That means, #1, managing ethnic and religious diversity by ensuring equity, mutual respect, and separating church/mosque and state. Once our leadership fails in this task we can’t prosper, because/
the economy will fail, security will deteriorate because we prioritize some above others and so the law cannot take its course, and politics and “governance” become simply about contentions for power in order to privilege some above others, not vision or competence./
This is why, our leadership having largely failed in this regard, Nigeria appears - painfully to many of us who believe in its possibilities as a country to become a nation and prosper - to be disintegrating gradually before our eyes. This is death by a thousand cuts./

As Rwandans and the world commemorate the 1994 genocide I celebrate Rwanda’s success from the standpoint of personal knowledge. Rwanda is led by a man @PaulKagame who is one of only three or four African leaders with a worldview, i.e. global strategic intent.
This is what our country needs. It’s what I humbly offered our people as a candidate for President in 2019. As a UN official two decades ago I served as Political Officer on the Rwanda desk at UNHQ in NY as Legal Adviser/Spokesman of the UN Int’l Tribunal for Rwanda in Tanzania.
My first book was “Rwanda’s Genocide: The Politics of Global Justice”. All this was way before my career shifted to economic management. Rwanda has been an inspiration that #Itispossible

Young people will learn to be more innovative, creative and original. I will establish skills centers and have our young people learn a skill in a modern way, which makes them more easily employable or better able to employ themselves.
I will establish a N1 trillion venture capital that will inject equity capital into new ventures.
