1. Technical indicators are overrated, Market doesn't care about them.

Price action and volume is what feeds into indicators.
2. Stick to 1 strategy. Don't do strategy hopping.

Successful trading is all about doing the same thing over and over again.

1⃣ Always have a Trading Plan

It is said 95% traders lose money, especially beginners. This happens to those who don’t have trading plan.

Remember Benjamin Franklin's quote “Failing to plan is planning to fail”

Key to becoming successful in trading is to stick to trading plan.
2⃣ Treat Trading as Business

Many people consider trading similar to gambling or just consider trading as their hobby. In most cases, such people often lose money in trading.

Get-rich-quick mindset that comes with gambling is not at all suitable for the stock market.

Common sense ≠ common practice

We know what's right, but we don't act upon what we know. There is a gap between knowing and doing! So what's happening in that brain of yours, and what can we do?

Let's close the close the gap, shall we?

Time for a thread 🧵
1) What is in for me?

Before we move on. Ask yourself how your trading performance would look like if you acted more upon what you know is right? Can you already see the benefits? And how this makes your life easier? Keep that picture in mind!

Choose Two or Three Liquid Shares"
Intraday trading involves squaring open positions before the end of the trading session. This is why it is recommended to choose two or three large-cap shares that are highly liquid.
Determine Entry and Target Prices:
Before placing the buy order, you must determine your entry-level and target price. It is common for a person’s psychology to change after purchasing the shares. As a result, you may sell even if the price sees a nominal increase.

TEN INDISPENSABLE COMMANDMENTS FOR ALL STOCK MARKET PARTICIPANTS

Time tested lessons for a less painful stock market journey

A thread

#StockMarket #investing #tradingpsychology
1/ “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” Benjamin Franklin

It’s true that more than 90% of retail traders/investors have been losing money in the stock market. Even highly educated people, who did great in the other fields, are losing money in the markets
Major reason for these losses is the lack of knowledge about the investments they make.

People will do a lot of research and bargaining before buying a 100 rupees stuff but will blindly make huge investments in the stock market, many times just on the basis of news or hunch

Certainty ✅

How certainty plays a role in our decisions.

Most who start trading with charts and do deep technical analysis fail to start trading.

As a result, keep researching & scouting for more TA & yet remained feared.

If you wait for 100% certainty you will not trade
Even if they start, they stumble and keep procrastinating until they are 90%, 95%, or 100% sure.

Which never happens...

The feeling of being independent is a personality trait.

This independency make the best Technical Analysts!
The root of this problem is our schooling.

School teaches us not to act until we are 100% sure.

Which is not a true approach to world living!

Intuition is misunderstood by many; highly successful pple get it. They know its not simply about prediction, it's also about fully experiencing the NOW moment, where we have access to creativity & insight.
From my work with high achievers, here's ONE path (of many) to develop your intuition:

1st step is to allow yourself to feel all your feelings. 2nd - recognizing & understanding what's beneath your feelings. 3rd step - track the patterns.
4th - develop hypotheses based on what you learn from your patterns, and test the hyps. 5th - Allow yourself to have moments of stillness, allowing subtle felt-sense feelings to surface. 6th - develop self-trust.

Six Characteristics of Successful Traders

I've seen traders succeed in very different markets, over very different time frames, and with very different strategies. Here are common elements I've noticed among the most successful traders:
1. Capacity for Sustained Focus - Quite simply, the successful ones process more information--and sustain the search for unique information--better than their peers. This enables them to see what others do not;
2. Originality and Creativity - I have never met a successful trader who traded in the ways that trading texts describe. There is always something unique to the successful trader, and very often it's looking at unique information or looking at common information in unique ways;

1/ One of the most important aspect of making it big as a trader is to learn the art of 'betting big'. Virtually every single superstar trader/investor we have heard of has at some point of time in their careers bet big on their best ideas.
2/ What do George Soros, William O'Neil, Warren Buffett, Paul Tudor Jones, Jesse Livermore, Bruce Kovner, and @markminervini have in common? They all knew and practiced the art of the big bet. They are/were masters of the big bet-in respect to betting big on their best ideas.

Trading is a marathon, not a sprint. A thread:

#StockMarket #Tradingtips #OptionsTrading #tradingpsychology #FollowTheMagician
Mental vs financial capital. ~80% of trading is mental, ~20% is charts. Have rules and do NOT break those rules for one trade.
A lot of people blow up their accounts because they attempt to 10x their entire portfolio in one week or worse in one single trade. Don’t treat market like a casino. It may take few weeks to couple month so build up. “Pay”tience is a virtue.

1⃣ The things that I look for are:
(a) the long-term trend,
(b) the current chart pattern, and
(c) picking a good spot to buy or sell. If you want to read the behaviour of the market, ask yourself…
(a) What’s the long-term trend?
(b) If any chart pattern is forming?
#trading
(c) Finding areas of value?
(d) Who’s more powerful, buyers or sellers?

Personally for me I trade like to trade bullish continuation patterns like Flags, Ascending Triangle, Rectangles, Penants, Falling Wedge in an already established uptrend.

Beneath every behavior is a feeling. Beneath each feeling are other feelings. Beneath all that is a need. And when that need is met, the ‘problem behavior’ drops away. This is dealing with the cause, not the symptom.
Feelings r multidimensional. Broad examples below. It helps 2 find the connection to the core issue e.g. Am I good/worthy enough?

Anger? may be telling u where you feel powerless.
Anxiety? may be telling u something is out of balance
Fear? may be telling you what you care about
Emotional self-awareness is a key edge.

Beneath every behavior is a feeling. Beneath each feeling are other feelings. Beneath all that is a need. And when that need is met, the ‘problem behavior’ drops away. This is dealing with the cause, not the symptom.
