1) Regarding the recent article shared below, and because this put me in a particular mood today to see #TTI survivors used for industry promotion. Let's explore historically how direct comparison trials fair in #psychotherapy.
2) The first meta-analysis ever found: “More generally, virtually no difference in effectiveness was observed between the class of all behavioral therapies (e.g. #behavior modification) and the nonbehavioral therapies (e.g., Rogerian, #psychodynamicpsycnet.apa.org/record/1978-10…

Why do some #doctors do not include advice on #diet and #exercise in their #treatment plan for #patients?
1. It is clear that with modifications in diet & #lifestyle and exercise; we can prevent, control, reduce the severity or cure diseases and improve patient's quality of life.
2. Still we see that patients are given options of medicines and surgery but very little advice about diet and exercise, even though these don't cost much (in comparison to other medical interventions). Patients almost always ask for these advices though.
3. What could be the reasons?
a. There are fewer research papers on role of diet and exercise in disease prevention and treatment. This is not a surprise, as most of the research is pharma-funded, and #Pharmaceuticals have little to gain if diet/exercise prove to be beneficial.

Singapore-based entrepreneur Subhasis Banerji was only 34 when he got into an accident that left him with physical and cognitive disabilities.
After making a remarkable recovery in just two years, he realised there wasn’t any technology to help people with the paralytic, mental or mobility issues.
Subhasis, at the age of 43, joined a Biomedical Engineering programme and came up with SynPhNe, a wearable device that trains the brain and muscles.

10 qualities that make a #doctor popular (among #patients)
Surprisingly, it is not the #NEETPG score, reputation of medical college, gold medals received in medical college or number of research papers published. After 30 yrs as a practicing doctor, I present my observations here
1. Ability to #listen: You will be #popular if you let your patients speak without interrupting them. You should start only after patients have finished saying what they have to. Also, they like it, if you don't interrupt or cut them short, while they are speaking.
2. #Smile: Patients love it, if you smile while receiving them. A serious face puts them off. If you get angry (even if it is their fault such as if they arrived late, or they have not followed your instructions), your popularity as a doctor would diminish. Smile relaxes them.

We just published as preprint our RCT on convalescent and vaccinated plasma.
Importantly the trial showed that in a selected group of patients with hematological and oncological malignancies, SARS-Cov-2 antibody containing plasma is a effective medrxiv.org/content/10.110…
In fact, it not only reduced time to discharge from the hospital (primary endpoint) but also survival (secondary endpoint). While these results should be confirmed in a separate study, the effect size is convincing.
Note that the study confirmed findings of other studies, that showed no effect in unselected elderly patients and patients with laboratory findings suggesting higher risk of severe disease.

Here is a heart touching story of Tuktuk’s recovery ...
All our rescues are very close to our hearts. Lots of running around behind sick and injured furballs, follow-ups, much patience is required
#IDAIndia #DogsofTwittter #doglovers
Tuk-tuk’s case was reported by one of the trustees and immediately our compassionate driver was determined to catch hold of him and help Tuk-tuk as he had hit by stone and had been hiding since long. When rescued he had a foul smelling #wound filled with live #maggots
#animal
Tuk-tuk gave a good chase but finally our senior staff driver managed to catch him. Tuk-tuk is under our care since May 2021. Sr Vet has advised medication to be dusted every day else his little wet wound will resurface again which can lead to a bad open wound. #Dog #treatment

🩸 We were started in 1960 by a family who lost their 6-year-old daughter to leukaemiaand so funding research into childhood blood cancer has always been a key part of our work.

🔬So this International #ChildhoodCancerDay we wanted to share just how far our research has come...
🎉 Improvements to blood cancer treatments now mean 89% of children survive leukaemia and lymphoma, up from 79% 20 years ago!

🤗This means that 700 more children and young people survived blood cancer who wouldn’t have done if the survival rate had stayed the same. #ICCD2022
🙌The improvement in childhood leukaemia survival has been amazing, and we are so proud of the role our research has played in helping improve treatments for childhood leukaemia...

🧵 #Overdose deaths hit record highs last year. Medications like buprenorphine cut the risk of death in half. But many pharmacies don’t provide it, saying they fear a @DEAHQ investigation -- like what happened to Martin Njoku. My latest for @NPR @KHNews buff.ly/3H5FQhK
2/ As a pharmacist, Martin Njoku wanted to help those hit by the #opioidepidemic. But a few years after he began providing medications for #addiction, @DEAHQ raided his pharmacy & accused him of furthering the very ailment he set out to treat.
3/ DEA pointed to "red flags" at Njoku's pharmacy: ppl getting Subutex—considered easier to abuse than Suboxone— ppl driving from far away, paying in cash, etc. But @Formanir @hfdrlaw explained that's what happens when Suboxone is too expensive & access to treatment is scarce.

The number of children infected with #Covid-19 is less among all other age group in the global population. How about the #psychological, #social impact in on #children? Researches suggests social and psychological impact in this group were mostly severe.
To find some answer and have idea let's take a closer look at the researches and figures provided by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), which shows the magnitude of the pandemic’s #impact on #children. Image
As families lose their sources of #income and home environments are turned upside down due to the socioeconomic impacts of Covid-19, #children find themselves more vulnerable to #poverty and likely to be deprived of their basic needs. Image

#Menticide is here & with it, a new attempt to establish a "#TechnoTotalitarian" rule over the lives of American citizens.

The final variant of #Coronavirus could very well be the manifestation of a #NewWorldOrder under #totalitarian rule.
That may sound absurd, but what is very concerning is that many talking heads in the media & even public figures are now making very carefully worded emotional appeals to logic to further induce a totalitarian #masspsychosis.

The teenage brain is under reconstruction. The prefrontal cortex is not fully developed until minimum aged 25. A bit longer for males. The prefrontal cortex is largely responsible for: decision making, planning, organisation, focusing, impulsivity, aka executive functions
Managing emotions, predicting consequences of one’s choices and moderating social behaviour. This is #science #facts Anyone who says otherwise is brainwashed by #ideology Shame on any professional who ignores this #gender #trans #detrans #shame
