Time for a story. Pull up a chair, if you'd like.

In July 1979, I shipped to Marine Corps Boot Camp in San Diego. I graduated October 27, 1979.

On November 4, 1979, Iranian 'students' stormed the US Embassy in Iran and took 52 American citizens hostage.
They held them for 444 days, releasing them on the day Ronald Reagan took office, making Jimmy Carter's humiliation (including a failed rescue attempt) complete.

They released them, we believed, because Reagan had promised to make Tehran glow in the dark.
Most of us believed Reagan would nuke Iran in a hot minute. I guess Iran believed it too. True? I don't know. My viewpoint was and is probably too simplistic.

This was my introduction to global politics and it featured Iran. Keep this mind if you will. I was very young.

The Daily Mail have systematically hunted Meghan and Harry down like Diana over a number of years. Now they claim H&M to be "traitors" for being hunted and choosing a different path for themselves ... cont'd

@DailyMailUK @MailOnline @AlisonKMurray @carolJhedges @RachelAshleyVox
Cont'd ...

The Mail's treatment of Meghan and Harry is the same behaviours that tabloids apply to Remainers, Judges etc.

They invested 17 pages of hate in their pursuit of H&M today because they chose a different pathway for their exit instead of a tunnel of love ...

#Meghan
Sorry seems to be the hardest word for Mail readers. It seems to me that they live their lives like candles in the wind ...

Meanwhile, #WWIII, #ClimateCrisis, #BrexitShambles get no coverage due to the #gaslighting of our gutter press ...

Since I’ve experienced it 1st hand more than once— I’m going to tell you what it’s like when you have a loved one & immediate family member who’s serving in a combat zone away from you, or is suddenly deployed with less than 24 hours notice to a war zone…

Before they leave, you scramble to make sure everything’s in order:
—Finances
—Wills
—Last minute checks for next of kin notifications…just in case

Time always comes too fast—You wait til the last second watching their plane & your heart depart.
And you feel gutted & terrified.
You spend hours, days & sometimes, weeks waiting to hear from them.
And when you don’t, even though you swore you wouldn’t, you finally give in—terrified of what you may find & check the news anyway—to look for stories of air strikes or hostile activity in their part of the world

Yesterday, a Senate briefing on the Iran conflict occurred during which Senators were shown no evidence, were denied "sensitive" information, were "warned" not to publicly debate or discuss additional actions,... facebook.com/10000074981779…
....and were told that the 2002 authorization to invade Iraq was the legal basis to justify the Soleimani killing.

Reviews were... mixed.

GOP Senator Mike Lee shocked the world by being simultaneously honest, and a Republican:

...."(P)robably the worst briefing I've seen at least on a military issue in the nine years I've served in the United States Senate." "Lame," "insane," "demeaning," "unconstitutional," "unAmerican," "wrong."

@justinamash There are 2 inescapable elephants in the room when considering Middle East peace: Israel and its conduct (and US support for that conduct, and control of oil.

A. The root cause of *all* Arab attacks on the U.S. is Israel's ethnic cleansing of Palestine.
1/
@justinamash Since UN Resolution 108 granted equal parts of Palestine to Palestinians and Jews, Israel has illegally attacked, seized the land of, and displaced millions of Palestinians from the land the UN granted to them.
They have as much claim to that land as the Jews have to Israel.
2/
@justinamash The US, like any UN member, has a moral right and obligation to support Israel in its *defense* of the land granted by the UN.
But no UN member nation should stand by as the privilege granted by the UN is abused by Israel, let alone support it.

1/7 Again the media is dangerously backing partisan agendas by omitting the most crucial dynamic from this #Trump #Iran #Iraq #TrumpsWar #WWIII development

Iran already owns Iraqi governors

Iran also controls the largest voting bloc in Iraq's govt

2/7 RE #Trump #Iran #Iraq #TrumpsWar #WWIII

Now Iran controls the largest voting bloc in the Iraq govt (see previous link) & the only alternative is led by this anti American cleric, as the second largest bloc that is ultimately controlled by Lebanon

3/7 RE #Trump #Iran #Iraq #TrumpsWar #WWIII

What Bolton & Trump are failing to explain (& media is failing to analyze) is they lost any allies in Iraq, Iran & Kurdistan (as well as Syria & Lebanon) by conceding to Russian dominance & creating this political vacuum in Iraqi govt

#TrumpsWar is #ReagansWar and #TrumansWar and #LincolnsWar and #WashingtonsWar.

These events are linked.

They didn't start them but they made damn sure they did their best to finish them, saving millions of lives.

Never forget the work that has gone before. #WeGotThis
To expand on the points made:

There isn't going to be a #TrumpsWar in the way the appeasing, lying, fearmongering Democrats want there to be.

He is responding in lawful self defense to what was started in the Middle East after WWI. Yes, WWI.
History shows that yes, it is a binary choice. Kill or be killed.

Humans have defended themselves against aggression since human life on earth began.

Like it or not, the Middle East is crucial to world security because oil fuels transport & their oil is cheap to access.

I spent 10 years as a US Army Intelligence Analyst, and what I can tell you is that killing #QassemSoleimani was a huge mistake for many reasons. There’s a good chance that ISIS would not have been defeated in Iraq & Syria without his expertise. /1

#TrumpsWar #WWIII #Iran
The same people who say he was in Iraq to make plans for attacks against US personnel, are the very same people who told us that Saddam had WMDs, that Assad gassed his own people in Douma, etc. So yeah, I’m calling BS on that. /2
When are you going to stop believing the lies & war propaganda that the US Government and the MSM keep feeding you? All this talk about Iran being the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism is complete BS that our govt keeps peddling on behalf of Israel & Saudi Arabia. /3

1/8 Donald Trump has just unilaterally committed an act of war without the approval of Congress. Not even the Gang of 8 was informed.

2/8 Make no mistake. General Qassem Soleimani was an evil man responsible for the death of thousands, from employing sophisticated IEDs used against American troops to recent murdering of Iraqi protesters.

The Shadow Commander: newyorker.com/magazine/2013/…
3/8 None-the-less, this is an act of war, the assassination of a powerful foreign leader, the second most powerful man in Iran, at a time when Trump has just been impeached and is facing trial while ALSO up for re-election.

@charliekirk11 You are mistaking #PlannedParenthoodVotes, part of a legal #PAC (#PoliticalActionCommittee) with #PlannedParenthood which uses its federal funding within highly restrictive Federal rules such as the #HydeAmendment which bans federal funding for abortions.
snopes.com/fact-check/pla…
@charliekirk11 #PlannedParenthood's super #PAC, #PlannedParenthoodVotes, kicked off a $45 million electoral program targeted toward battleground states for the 2020 election. That's eight times what it spent during the 2018 midterms.

@charliekirk11 #Trump flew to #Afghanistan for his #Thanksgiving dinner.
He probably took the turkey he didn't pardon so they wouldn't have to spend extra money to feed him.
Speaking of govt. funding causing the death of children, read what the U.S. military has done throughout its history.
