Today is the 46th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision. I’m here because of abortion. Because women in my family were able to get the abortions they needed, legal and not, and move forward with their lives. Just like I was. I’m always thankful for abortion.
Abortion isn’t a new medical procedure. It’s been around as long as pregnancy has. Only in the last 150 years or so has it been criminalized. Pills and herbs that promised to bring back the menses were advertised and shared. It’s not new.…
This is why I get very irritated when white people say abortion is worse than slavery or is Black genocide. First off, it’s simply not, and the way this country refuses to address how slavery built this nation and how its legacy lives on is appalling.
