Hon`ble Justice Mr.Sathyanarayana in the hearing of case against #arrear exam, observed that court can only comply with the norms of statutory body like #UGC & #AICTE. The stand of #AICTE is clear that they are not ready to accept the decision of Taminadu government. /1
#UGC will also not accept the decision to cancel the exam. At this pace we can expect the verdict from High court either in the the first or second week of December. That is a very long period of time. By that time even the next semester exams would end. /2
Arrear exam cancellation announcement is a big hoax played by TN CM Mr. EPS @CMOTamilNadu. He has put the future & life of students at risk. This clearly shows his incompetence & one of many decisions that his govt reversed during the #Covid crisis. /3
#UGC has suggested new Academic Calendar for the First Year(Fresh batch) of Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate Students of the Universities for the Session 2020-21.
As per the suggested calendar, admission process in universities will be completed by 31st October 2020 and classes of fresh batch students will commence from 1st November 2020.
To avoid financial hardship being faced by the parents due to #lockdown and related factors, a full refund of fees will be made on account of all cancellation of admissions/ migration of students, up to 30.11.2020, for this very session as a special case.

This thread is about the Arrear exam case that has been filed in the high court.

In his plea he claims that TN govt has violated the guidelines of #UGC & #AICTE and also opposes TN govt`s decision on the grounds that it would deteriorate the standard of higher education in the state . The case is not listed for hearing on Monday. /2
In the final year students case against UGC in Supreme Court, even before hearing began I said that the plea of Maharashtra govt is the only valid prayer, as it has invoked Disaster Management Act. Hon`ble judges also raised this crux question whether DMA could override UGC?. /3
This decision of the Tamilnadu government is in violation of the #UGC guidelines issued originally on 29th April & Revised in July. In the UGC guidelines it is very clear that this provision for mark calculation is only for CURRENT academic session. /1
As of now the legal status of the announcement of the TN government must be scrutinized with the guidelines of #UGC. As the matter of State Vs UGC is pending with the supreme court, this announcement will be valid only if the Top court rules in favor of states (DMA). /2
