@TioKauma @ntvuganda @HonAniteEvelyn MPUUGA: Buganda has moved first to the clarion call we have been making. It is not the first time Buganda is moving before other regions. It moved first by working with Museveni and opposed Obote. Buganda moved first to fight for Uganda's independence.

#NTVOnTheSpot
@TioKauma @ntvuganda @HonAniteEvelyn MPUUGA: For years we have seen the results from western Uganda. I suppose that is democracy not sectarianism. The highest level of sectarianism is nepotism. Should we discuss nepotism as part of sectarianism, whose incubation centre Anite very well knows.

#NTVOnTheSpot
@TioKauma @ntvuganda @HonAniteEvelyn SSEMUJJU: If you appreciate that Kampala is cosmopolitan, you cannot accuse it then of being sectarian..... That all the tribes of Uganda that are here, when it came to voting against Museveni, they became Baganda!

The most priced item in Uganda now. DR forms!
The way I know Americans, if they really want authentic copies of DR Forms...they have them already😁.

Did Byabakama brag about his 'Ugandan internet' that transmitted results. Let him cross check the system did not copy the #CIA without his knowledge.

The Americans likely have the results already- all of them. The ones compiled by NUP, those of NRM, and even Byabyakama's 😁 . Only problem is they also have strategic interests here and in the region.

So, they will use what they know to the best of their strategic interests!

This is against our constitution. The wanainchi can't appear before the Court Martial unless they're found with fire arms or army artifacts. When will M7 and his gang members stop raping our constitution? Doesn't he get ashamed? Does he have a conscience? Thread. #UGDecides2021
How do his family members look at him everyday and still respect him? How do you stay with such a selfish man and be comfortable? I lost my respect for all his family for not speaking even a word against his consistent disrespect of our country and its laws.
I despise all his family for massaging him as disrespects Ugandan citizens. I loathe this old man the way I loathe rapists.

We don't have a lot we can do because he always cheats in elections but let's give it one more go. Go out on 14th January and vote out this shameless man.

GEN TUMUKUNDE: Three quarters of your news bulletin @nbstv for example is on one candidate. You show him launching something, then his election rally, interview his officials before anything else.....is that what you call free access to the media?

#Interview
#NBSMorningBreeze
@nbstv GEN MUNTU: I avoid confrontations because all you gain is publicity, nothing else. Beyond publicity, I need to actually get to the voters. All my effort is in how best to reach the voters at the least cost.

@nbstv GEN MUNTU: There has been a lot of interference. Some of us never expected it to be smooth anyway for we understand the mindset of the main candidate. The EC knew we had 146 districts, but gave us only 60 days, now a ban.

There is only one #AlexMukulu!

ALEX MUKULU: There should be no qualifications to become a Member of Parliament. MPs should be volunteers...people who have already succeeded in life and wish to assist others.

#UgDecides2021
#2⃣1⃣DaysToGo
ALEX MUKULU: Each tribe recognized in the Uganda constitution should be represented by only 2 Members of Parliament. The parliament should be composed of not more than 108 people since Uganda has about 54 tribes.

On the surface, many will read, say a lot from the joint statement, but I trust Archbishop CK Lwanga's intentions. He's not loud, but consistent in passing on a message. Govt has often been critical of him.

For you, I will repeat what he said the last time he met the President.
Arch. CKL often gives a message without anyone even realizing he has said what he has said. He rarely speaks 'directly', and if he does, there will be a reason he has changed tactics.
The following thread was when he last met the president, and few realized what he had 'done'
ARCH LWANGA: We're here as members of IRCU @irc_uganda to offer end of year thanksgiving prayers, & also to pray for peace, protection & promotion of the needed fundamental & other human rights as stipulated in Chapter 4 of our national constitution.

Prior to the 2016 elections, I was involved in some political activism mainly on FB. I was convinced we needed change of leadership in this country. However, 2 days to election day, I was in my college apartment, too broke to travel back to Ntungamo to vote. #UGDecides2021
The morning of the election day, I woke up feeling guilty that I was going to be an enabler of another term of among other things, a poor health and education sectors & human rights violations by M7's security organs. I called a friend and borrowed money. Around 11AM, I set off.
I reached my polling station at Buhanama P/S in Itojo 15 minutes before closure of voting. I remember just going straight to casting my vote because almost everyone had finished voting and waiting for the counting of votes. It was the first time to vote and I couldn't be prouder.

One of my fav moments from the run of my sister and friend @HonAniteEvelyn . It is a long way from her first race (when we first met) and her career continues to show how a new generation navigates the practical politics of #Uganda’s Democratic experiment #UGDecides2021
Since I started reporting on Ugandan elections ( and politics) there have been (now nearly) 3 generations of young, idealistic and pragmatic leaders that have spanned the longevity of NRM’s dominance of national elections. It speaks to how impactful this period has been.
I remember like yesterday when Betty Amogin, Odonga Otto, Gerald Karuhanga or Thomas Tayebwa (sans gray hair) were the youngins we were working with. Their generation has matured in the era of the unprecedented commercialization of the democratic process whose effects we await.
