TRIVIA TUESDAY: The Victory Book Campaign

The Victory Book Campaign (VBC) was a nationwide book drive est. in 1941 by the American Library Association, the American Red Cross, and the United Service Organizations (USO). It provided books to those serving overseas during #WWII Image
The VBC’s first national director was Althea Warren. She took a leave of absence from her job as head librarian of the Los Angeles Public Library to oversee the campaign. Warren contacted librarians across the country to volunteer with her. #WomensHistoryMonth @USArmy @TRADOC
Warren created specialized committees to handle the VBC’s publicity, book collection, and book distribution. She got other organizations to participate in the VBC, including book publishers, universities, the Works Projects Association, and the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Image

Spot WTI: $12⇒$36 (+%300)
Temmuz vade: $18⇒$36 (+%100)
"Strip": $25⇒$38 (+%50) Image
Olayın özeti: $12'den $36'ya çıkışı bekleyen bireyler fon aldılar. Halbuki akaryakıt tankeri sahibi olmadıkları için #spot petrol değil; farklı vadelileri (kabaca tüm şeridi) satın alan fonları almış oldular...

Strip'le kıyaslayınız:
#USO: $17⇒$27 (+%59)
#AES: 566⇒756 (+%34)
Teknik not:

If May WTI Crude went negative -$40, and June WTI Crude is currently down $8 to $11 (on its way to negative), can US exchange listed oil ETFs go below Zero? If I were a major counterparty after yesterday’s session, I would demand more than 100% collateral. #USO #usoil
Exchange listed oil ETFs represent about a third of all contracts in June WTI crude. They must be sold given current market dynamics from May 11-may 15th. What do they do if oil goes negative before May 11th? Do they stop at Zero?
Or does “management” go into capital preservation mode and try to sell a third of open interest before it hits Zero and send what’s left of retail investor’s money back to them as a consolation prize for not losing everything? #usoil

Dispose of #MTNL immediately, before it sucks out more funds from the stomachs of the poor, and convert #BSNL into a utility supplying digital connectivity to every village in India, which govt & private sector can use by paying user charges: timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india…
2/p If MTNL was privatized in 2003, decade of losses cld hv been avoided. MTNL service was so bad in 2013 that I switched to a private provider. Only usefulness of BSNL is its rural network, which cn b converted into a public utility(digital India). Rest cld hv been sold yrs ago.
3/p MTNL was formed out of BSNL in the hope that it could compete with the private sector in the two most profitable areas(metros) for telecom sector. It was an abject failure, despite the fact that private players had to pay for spectrum, while MTNL & BSNL got spectrum free!
