His real name was Sher Singh, born on Dec 26, 1899, to a poor peasant family in Punjab’s Sangrur district. His father, Tehl Singh, worked as a railway gate keeper at a level crossing in the Uppali village of Punjab.
Having lost both his parents when he was small, he along with his brother Mukta Singh, grew up in the Central Khalsa Orphanage in Amritsar. Following the Sikh initiation rites, he got the name of Udham Singh.
With that Udham Singh movie by Shoojit Sarkar in the news of late, my thread on one of the great revolutionaries of our freedom struggle, whose life needs to be known more.

కళ్లముందు తుపాకీ తూటాల దెబ్బలకు గిలగిలా కొట్టుకుంటూ తల్లిదండ్రులతో పాటు వందలాది మంది కళ్ళ ముందే చనిపోతుంటే కన్నీళ్ళు కూడా రాని ఆ దుస్ధితిలో వరుసగా అక్కడున్న ఒక్కో శవాన్ని పేర్చుతూ తనలో తానే మాటాడుకుంటూ మనసులోనే శపధం చేసుకుంటున్న ఒక పధ్నాలుగేళ్ళ కుర్రాడి మానసిక స్ధితినీ,
దేశభక్తినీ, దీనికి కారణమైన జనరల్ మైకేల్ ఓ డయ్యర్ పై పెంచుకున్న పగను మరెవ్వరిలోనూ చూడలేం. డయ్యర్ పై పగబట్టి ఏకంగా 21 ఏళ్ళపాటు నీడలా వెంటాడి వెంటాడి అందరికీ తెలిసేలా పబ్లిగ్గా కాల్చి చంపాడంటే అర్ధం చేసుకోవచ్చు ఉధమ్ సింగ్ అనుక్షణం తన పగ కోసమే బ్రతుకుతూ తన లక్ష్యం కోసమే

1) जलियाँवाला बाग़ हत्याकांड का बदला लेने के लिए 1934 में ऊधमसिंह लंदन गये..वहाँ उन्होंने यात्रा के उद्देश्य से एक कार और एक रिवाल्वर भी ख़रीद ली।
उत्तर - अंतिम इच्छा उस हत्यारे को मारने की थी,वो पूरी हो गई"..वीर ऊधम सिंह।
1) जलियाँवाला बाग़ हत्याकांड का बदला लेने के लिए 1934 में ऊधमसिंह लंदन गये..वहाँ उन्होंने यात्रा के उद्देश्य से एक कार और एक रिवाल्वर भी ख़रीद ली।
2) जलियाँवाला बाग़ हत्याकांड के 21 साल बाद 13 मार्च 1940 को 'रॉयल सेंट्रल एशियन सोसायटी' की लंदन के 'कॉक्सटन हॉल' में बैठक थी जहाँ माइकल ओ'डायर भी वक्ताओं में से एक था। बैठक के बाद उधम सिंह ने ओ'डायर पर गोलियां चला दी
3) 4) दो गोलियाँ डायर को लगीं, जिससे उसकी तुरन्त मौत हो गई। ऊधमसिंह ने वहाँ से भागने की कोशिश नहीं की और स्वयं को गिरफ़्तार करा दिया। उन पर मुक़दमा चला।
