Notice the gun on the right: it is being blurred in a very telling spot. This spot is where US military weapons have their UID code, a QR code used for identification purposes in the US Military since 2007. It is blurred, and only on one gun. Do you notice another thing? :)
Part 5 in my series: Military Terms for Dummies- AWACS or also known as Airborne Warning and Control System. The aircraft is able to detect, track, identify and report potentially hostile aircraft operating at low altitudes, as well as provide fighter control of allied aircraft.
These planes are basically the ears and eyes in the sky and project strength in the battle space through communication. They are integrated with ground radar and allied planes. They fly as close as possible to the battle space to provide the best support.
They are susceptible to radar jamming and electronic warfare so they must be protected by allied AA and aircraft. In modern warfare they can be shot down, but in Iraq or Afghanistan no. Russia has these and Ukraine doesn't ones INTEGRATED into the AA radars.
