Not something I know much about, but in browsing through this I noted a nomination to the "The Federal Service Impasses Panel" and wondered what it is. 1/
Answer: The Panel "resolves impasses between federal agencies and unions representing federal employees arising from negotiations..." In other words, it's meant to be a neutral arbiter between federal worker unions and the government. 2/

Ok, fair enough. And who is Trump nominating to it? Per the White House press release, some guy named David Osborne. Who is he? More googling. 3/

A supermajority of @splcenter staff signed union authorization cards and filed an election petition with the NLRB. We asked leadership to voluntarily recognize #splcunion. Instead, they hired a "union avoidance" law firm. [THREAD]

THREAD: We need your help, y'all. You probably saw Provost Feser's email Monday announcing salary increase program. While the he attempted to positively frame his proposal, it's an insidious attempt to undermine bargaining efforts and the core mission of our #union. Here's why:
The Provost's "salary increase program" was initially presented as a MOA (memorandum of understanding) at the very end of the bargaining session on Monday, leaving no opportunity to negotiate, ask questions, or respond. What's more? We only were given 3 days to accept or reject.
In the e-mail to faculty he presented an implied ultimatum to #union members. Either accept an ambiguous and inequitable salary increase and forego all bargaining for FY2020 salary increases (more on that next), or continue bargaining.

Roll the drums: #LaborFest is here! #wiunion #UnionsForAll #UnionStrong
Proud to march with thousands of Wisconsin workers at #LaborFest in Milwaukee today—including our hardworking Lieutenant Governor, Mandela Barnes!
At the LaborFest in Madison, proud to celebrate a landmark victory: after eight years of a governor who tried to crush working people, Wisconsin rose up and elected a governor who believes in them. Wisconsin works best when we say “union yes!”

In solidarity with workers at @Delta, NEA President @Lily_NEA wrote an open letter to Delta President Glen Hauenstein. Read it below. #UnionStrong #Solidarity
Dear Mr. Hauenstein,

On behalf of the more than three million members of the National Education Association (NEA) and the students they serve, I write to condemn Delta Airlines’ condescending and flippant disrespect for workers voice by employing anti-union materials 1/
designed to persuade employees to drop their union membership.

To add insult to injury, it is both obscene and shameful for you to encourage employees to “invest in video games” rather than use their collective voice to fight for the rights, wages, and protections they 2/

Can you imagine taking a job & working for decades for less pay because some of that money was going to be paid later as retirement income & healthcare & then being told, sorry, the money went to the bosses & none is left for you? #Miners can. @MineWorkers #UnionStrong/1
I wasn’t able to go to Columbus yesterday to rally for miners pensions & healthcare, part of their pay for years of hard & dangerous work, but I was there in spirit. #IStandWithLabor @MineWorkers #UnionStrong/2
I can’t wait to go to D.C. to fight for permanent funding so our brothers and sisters can be free to enjoy their retirement instead of spending their time rallying for what they earned and were promised. @MineWorkers #UnionStrong/end

Just came off the streets after march and rally with hotel workers of @unitehere and #publicschool teachers @uesf who just earned a pay raise thru SF’s #YesOnG ballot campaign waged with @SFDemocrats @sflabor and @TeamPelosi. People are angry and scared about #Janus.... 1/thread Christine and SF teachers union leaders marching
We marched with hundreds of hotel workers of @unitehere who are in contract negotiations with massively lucrative #SF hotel chains that will not give their workers a contract with fair wages. Message: “One Job Should be Enough” It’s NOT - and #Janus makes their lives harder. 2/ Susie Christine Rafael marching
Both the hotel workers and the teachers said the same thing: Donald Trump’s #SCOTUS sided with corporate bosses over workers, first denying protections against #sexualharassment and today denying voices in the job in #Janus. By design, TRUMP’S COURT IS HURTING WORKING PEOPLE. 3/ Local 2 Hotel Workers Union and Teachers Union leaders speak at SF rally
