British Govt. In 1914 AD the annual session of Utkal Sammilani was held at Paralakhemundi under the Presidentship of Bikram Deba burma, the king of Jayapur. For the first time Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati the King of Paralakhemundi opined in this annual session of

Utkal Sammilnai regarding the formation of a separate Odisha province instead of unification of Odia speaking tracts. In the year 1903 "Ganjam Jatiya Samiti" was formed at Rambha and its first session was inaugurated at Berhampur where resolutions were passed

୧୯୩୬ ଅପ୍ରେଲ ପହିଲାରେ ଭାଷାଭିତ୍ତିରେ ସ୍ଵତନ୍ତ୍ର ଓଡ଼ିଶା ପ୍ରଦେଶ ଗଠନ କରାଗଲା। ପରେ ପରେ ୧୯୪୮ ମସିହା ଜାନୁଆରୀ ପହିଲାରେ ୨୫ ଟି ଗଡ଼ଜାତ ରାଜ୍ୟ ସର୍ଦ୍ଦାର ବଲ୍ଲଭଭାଇ ପଟେଲଙ୍କ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶକ୍ରମେ ଓଡ଼ିଶା ସହ ମିଶ୍ରଣ କରାଗଲା ବୋଲି ଘୋଷଣା କରାଗଲା। ସେହି ୨୫ ଟି ଗଡ଼ଜାତ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଷଢ଼େଇକଳା ଓ ଖରସୁଆଁ ଅନ୍ୟତମ ଥିଲା।

ଷଢ଼େଇକଳା ଓ ଖରସୁଆଁ ଅଧିବାସୀଙ୍କ କଥିତ ଭାଷା ଥିଲା ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଏବଂ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସାମାଜିକ ଚଳଣି ଓଡ଼ିଆ ସଂସ୍କୃତି ସହ ଓତଃପ୍ରୋତ ଭାବେ ଜଡ଼ିତ ଥିଲା। ତେବେ ପରେ ପ୍ରଶାସନିକ ସୁବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ଆଳରେ ଏହାକୁ ବିହାର ସହିତ ମିଶ୍ରଣ କରାଗଲା।

The Odia speaking state, formed on 1st April 1936, did not happen overnight. It was the result of years of efforts by Odias and some sympathetic non-Odias, including some British officers. Let’s remember earliest such efforts.
