1/This goes to show what our families and supporters have been saying since the beginning.
1. Officers knew…They fucking KNEW that there were dead and dying children in the classroom and they did absolutely nothing to help and/or protect them.
2/ We’ve heard it out of their mouths that they were afraid of getting shot. You know, one of the hazards of their profession that they know about before taking the job. That’s like me climbing my wind turbines and then refusing to work on any electrical because I could get
3/ electrocuted. You know the hazards. You choose your profession. You failed our kids. Kids died because you refused to go in.

2. Our community voted Mariano back into an elected position, despite 3 other candidates, 1 of which being a father of a slain child.

Senator Cruz was on my flight, and I asked him to name any of the Uvalde victims.

He couldn’t. Texas deserves better than spineless hacks like this. Right the wrongs of 2018, and make @BetoORourke our next Governor. #betoforgovernor #cancuncrus #uvaldestrong
I think it’s worth sharing that we had this exchange while I had my Pokémon neck pillow on. 🥰 Image

Uvalde. (Opinion piece)

I've been through a lot of trauma covering what I have seen over the years, and uvalde was hands down the hardest emotional experience i've had. I can't stop seeing those children's faces.

Being at the site of those memorials was hard enough, and I
can't even imagine how incapacitating it would have been to routinely enter the funerals. I had considered it originally, but then couldn't grit my teeth and bear the emotional toll I knew it would have had. Plus as a outsider and a journalist I feel like I may be out of place at
the funerals.

I also didn't want to ask anyone for interviews, I didn't want to out the on the spot pressure of asking for a interview to grieving members of the community, but I noticed that local Main Stream Media and CNN was asking everyone, So I did approach a couple ladies

“I made it clear I did not agree with the idea of saying the election was stolen…which I told [Donald Trump] was bullshit… The incumbent [cannot] stay in power based on its view unsupported by specific evidence there was fraud in the election.” Bill Barr
#January6thCommittee: “Did that affect your perspective about the election when Attorney General Barr made that statement?”

Ivanka Trump: “It affected my perspective. I respect Attorney General Barr, so I accepted what he was saying.”

“Any legal jargon you hear about seditious conspiracy, obstruction of an official proceeding, and conspiracy to defraud the United States — all boils down to this: January 6th was the culmination of an attempted coup.”

It was easier for a 13-year-old boy to buy a rifle from a private seller at a gun show than to buy beer, cigarettes, porn, and lottery tickets. (🎥:#RealSports 2014)

Gun show loopholes still exist.

Senate Republicans won’t even vote to DEBATE safety laws.

PLEASE HELP: This is Elihana Cruz Torres, one of the victims of the Uvalde massacre. Her dad is incarcerated for a drug-related offense. He received the last letter from her on Friday May 20. Thursday afternoon he found out of her passing and his compassionate release was denied.
Elihana’s family is desperately seeking a way to ensure that her dad gets to say his last goodbye to her. She was only a week away from having a physical contact visit with him.
If anyone knows of an attorney who is willing to help the family ProBono, please reach out to me. Her funeral is set to be held in a few days.

I’ve been trying to organize my thoughts and decide on what it is I should say or do. I am grateful for the encouragement and support of everyone who is sharing my plea. I am overwhelmed and intimidated. The internet is known for chewing people up and it is scary having... 🧵1/
so many eyes on me. But I no longer want to shout into obscurity, into nothingness.
Voter suppression is real. It is happening in my state and across the country. So many voices are being drowned out by over policing, misogyny and systemic racism. 2/
And for many, they have been convinced that their vote doesn't count. I want to believe in our systems - that if we unite we can win. But how do you win against a system that has been designed specifically to work against you? 3/
