Do you need a #multicloud #strategy? Most likely, not. Just use one cloud that fits your needs.

The chances are that your project is multi-#cloud, anyway. There are nuances, of course.

One is TRAFFIC. The cost can go up depending on the path it follows.

A thread 👇🧵

The bigger the company, the bigger the chance that you are already using multiple #clouds. Generic public clouds (#AWS, #GCP, #Azure), private clouds (#VMWare, #Nutanix), and specialized clouds (#Cloudflare, #Vercel) can all be combined together for the benefit of your org.

If you have just a few GBs of traffic a month, then this would most likely not have a big impact on your #cloud #costs. But if you have more than a few GBs per hour, a #multicloud setup may bring you some surprises.

Understanding #SQL Server IO Size
2021 December 10
nocentino.com/posts/2021-12-…
i'll nitpick two details, though :-)
the 512k upper bound for disk IO size isn't properly a #sqlserver limit, although it *is* the limit on most systems. it's the upper bound of the disk adapter.
some disk adapters - most fibre channel HBAs and some others, too - allow configuration of the maximum disk transfer size, and can be set higher than 512kb.

I'm a #VCDX panelist, and as such I review and score applications on a regular basis...at least twice in a year, I review an application that is based on a templates...we often got the question if it's tolerated or not. It's not a big deal , but... 👇 🧵
...the #VCDX blueprint mentions: "The application may be rejected if [...] it merely echoes published sample implementations, templates, and defaults, without demonstration of the candidate’s design skills."
The #VCDX application purpose is for us to "determine the candidate's ability to gather and interpret requirements, plan, create, document, and test an implementable design".

Watching @NetAppINSIGHT keynote? Me too. Here are my quick thoughts. A 🧵

#NetAppINSIGHT /1
IMO, #NetApp was the traditional on-premises #Storage vendor that moved faster to the #Cloud. They created the #DataFabric vision a few years ago and are delivering value today.

#NetAppINSIGHT /2
With ONTAP services available on #AWS, #Azure and #GoogleCloud, I can compare what #NetApp is doing with #Storage to what #VMware is doing with virtual machines: providing existing customers an easier path to #Cloud migration.
