Fascinating (but not surprising) that MOST #ANTZ call out from their ECHO (Echo echo) chambers claiming to know what ALL #vape 'fans' think. So here's a tweet thread from a persons who #vapes and is a fan of #TobaccoHarmReduction, to clarify what ONE person in that group thinks..

I'm completely in favor of 'phasing out' combustible #cigarettes. #THR products like #vape, #snus & #HTP could do that in a decade or so if the moron #ANTZ (like Ruth) had not demonized #nicotine & currently .. 'fight' against alternative nicotine products.

But when an #ANTZ says 'phasing out', my auto-correct inserts 'prohibition', and I definitely don't support that. It is a #HumanRight for people to choose to consume drugs, and the role of (ACTUAL) #PublicHealth ppl should be to encourage them to do so in the safest way possible.

Following a long line of articles from #TobaccoControl types who completely fail to 'get' #TobaccoHarmReduction, @LauraRossouw chimes in to prove she can misunderstand it up with the 'best'.
So let's look at a brief overview of the article..

Firstly, the title itself. Not only do #THR advocates support (sensible) regulation on #eCigarettes / #vaping, but there are, in most countries, a variety of legacy consumer protections that apply to them (e.g. standards for electrical goods or standards for labeling poisons).

Ppl approving such things need to get comfortable with the concept of 'self titration' - ..

The most recent evidence shows that mint and menthol are among the most popular #vape products used by youth and although raising the minimum tobacco purchase age is an important step, it is not enough to stem the youth e-cigarette epidemic.

As one of the first states to raise the tobacco purchase age to 21, #Oregon still experienced a nearly 80% increase in youth e-cigarette use from 2017 to 2019. In fact, 1 in 4 Oregon 11th graders report current use of e-cigarettes and #vaping products like Juul.

This title is deceptive in that it mentions #eLiquid but then goes on to discuss the components (concentrated #nicotine) used to MAKE e-liquid.
In a regulated, legal market there'd be no need for the latter to be in the homes of #Australians who want to #QuitSmoking via #vaping.

I was in a mentally abusive relationship for years. The guy cheated on me for a long while with a minor. My coping mechanism during and after that relationship was Camel Crush Menthols. Pack a day. It was a bad bad habit. Until one day, I learned about something new.

I met someone new after the other guy and I split. Nicest guy ever. He was outside of work and pulled out a #vaping device as I reached for my cigarettes. He educated me about everything, how it was safer, how the nicotine intake could be controlled, everything.
