The whole atmosphere was charged with Muslim fanaticism. ‘Allah ho akbar’ and not ‘Bharat mata ki jai’ was heard everywhere. Soon there were Muslim riots in Bannu, Kohat, Multan, Nagpur, Kanpur and elsewhere.

Gondwana, a region that covers eastern Vidarbha, some parts of Western Chattisgarh, and Southern part of Madhya Pradesh. It is so named after it’s rulers the Gonds, a predominantly forested region, inhabited by tribals.
One of the kingdoms of Gondwana was the Garha Mandla kingdom in it’s northern part. It’s most famous ruler was Sangram Shah, who captured the territories all the way up to the Narmada Valley, Sagar and Damoh.

While i absolutely love my corporate work, i totally miss class & dancing.
The best thing i ever did was moving to Shri Shijith Nambiar (Anna) and Smt Parvathy Menon (Akka), alumni of Kalakshetra for advance learning .

They gave me an opportunity to savour that Baani , something that ive always admired and watched since childhood, due to family association.
Today when i look back, the period of training under them was a major factor in shaping my attitude towards a lot of things in life.

బంగారంగా భావిస్తూ పెద్దల చేతిలో పెట్టి ఆశీస్సులు తీసుకుంటారు. చెట్లని దైవంగా పూజించి కొలుచుకోవడం హైందవ సంస్కృతిలో తరచూ కనిపించేదే! కానీ ఈ దసరా రోజుకీ జమ్మి చెట్టుకీ మధ్య అనుబంధం ఏమిటి అన్న ప్రశ్నకు చాలా సమాధానాలే కనిపిస్తాయి.

జమ్మి భారతీయులకు కొత్తేమీ కాదు. ఇంకా చెప్పాలంటే భారత ఉపఖండంలోనే ఈ వృక్షం ఉద్భవించిందన్నది శాస్త్రవేత్తల అభిప్రాయం. అందుకనే రుగ్వేదకాలం నుంచే జమ్మి ప్రస్తావన కనిపిస్తుంది. అప్పట్లో ఈ చెట్టుని అగ్నిని పుట్టించే సాధనంగా వాడేవారు.
