The US Treasury department has announced sanctions against a number of Russians. Some of these names ought to be familiar by now. Read them here. Lots to place in context, and loads to unpack. Let’s dive in. 🧵👇🏻 home.treasury.gov/news/press-rel…
I’ll start with the name that should be most recognizable, Konstantin Kilimnik. You’ll remember him from such attacks on our democracy as taking internal trump campaign information during the 2016 election from trump campaign manager and ostrich jacket connoisseur Paul Manafort.
Another name is Yevgheni Prigozhin aka Putin’s chef. You may remember him from such swept under the rug by Bill Barr items as the Mueller Report. Putin’s chef was cooking up disinformation bots to interfere with the 2016 election. Sow some discord, add a pinch of IRA bots...

"'This is what collusion looks like!' That should have been the headline in every newspaper across the country. Of course it was not, because, I charge, reading a Moby-Dick-sized document is too much work for our indolent Beltway press."

Good morning troops! Yesterday’s news was unrelenting. Today should be no different. There might be a debate tonight! For sure at 11am there will be a hearing in the case to drop charges against Michael Flynn. Quick refresher👇🏻
Former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn lied to the FBI. He plead guilty to this offense twice.
Atty General Bill Barr committed an impeachable act (Obstruction of Justice) by ordering the DOJ to drop the charges against Flynn.
Judge Sullivan is perplexed.
Judge Sullivan phoned a friend and asked whether or not he has a say in whether the charges are dismissed. His friend said yes. Some on the court said no, then the whole district court ruled, yes. After a long process, we’re waiting for the 11am hearing.

But last night...

Thread 2 Johnson alleges Hunter Biden had a bank account opened with a guy named Gongwen Dong. He owns 432 Park Ave, a building with financing ties to CMZ Ventures.
The building Dong owns is 432 Park Ave. The ‘M’ in CMZ stands for Manafort👀. Looking even slightly deeper, financing included Deutsche Bank (hi #FinCenFiles 👋🏻) and Dimitry Firtash a Ukrainian agent tied to Lev Parnas who gave💰 to Kevin McCarthy and has ties to Rudy Giuliani.
If I recall correctly, and I do, Manafort was convicted of crimes, and was trump’s campaign manager, and did that for free, and used to work for Yanukovych in Ukraine before the Revolution of Dignity, but please do go on about Hunter Biden.

All eyes on @RonWyden He’s on Senate Intel, (i.e #volume5 ) & Finance Cmtes. Wednesday, he called out Ron Johnson and Chuck Grassley for disseminating Russian propaganda. Said he’d have more to say. Last night was #BidenTownHall so today would be a good day for hammers to fall.
Wyden listed names related to those who are pushing Russian propaganda and are active foreign intel agents including:
Ron Johnson - Chairman of Homeland Security Committee
Rudy Giuliani - presidents personal lawyer.
Andreii Derkach - foreign intel agent
Andrey Teleshenko - agent
Ron Johnson is the Chairman of Homeland Security Committee and he was just called out by his senate colleagues as meeting with foreign agents in continuance of politically motivated investigations that would aid trump in his re-election. c-span.org/video/?c490695…

Schumer and Wyden are calling out Johnson and Grassley on the Senate floor right now.👀

Wyden brings up Andreii Dirkach (an active agent of foreign intelligence) Asks why is he meeting with Giuliani? Asks what would you call someone aiding Russians in their interference.👀🍿
Johnson is about 9 types of red right now and stammering out a response. He has none. He gaslights by saying the Democrats are hypocrites. Says the Democrats are violating clause against being mean to other senators. The president has to remind him to not impune other senators.
So exactly doing what he just blamed the Democrats of doing. He is now 10 types of red.
He blames Sen Peters staff who introduced into the record a chart used by Derkach. Without objection by the way. And because of the investigation being run by Johnson.

THREAD 10 pg 903-966 of the 966 pg Senate Intelligence Committee’s #Volume5 counterintelligence report into Russian interference. We see a wrap up, recommendations and partisan conclusions. Please read this report for yourself and draw your own conclusions.intelligence.senate.gov/sites/default/…
Pg 903 We begin today with a correction, my memory betrayed me. I was wrong about Simpson having lunch with Veselnetskya the day of the trump tower meeting. It was dinner the night before and after. He saw her in court on the 9th. I want to be accurate. Also, peep the footnote. Image
This is from Glenn Simpsons testimony. Image

Pg 806 Answers some questions like was there a server in trump tower that may have been communicating with Alfa Bank in a Russia? Yes. It may have been to spam Alfa Bank employees. Image
Pg 816 If any page in #Volume5 captures more simply, eloquently, plainly and clearly what was going on here, I haven’t read it yet. Image

THREAD 8 pages 701-800 of the 966 page Senate Intelligence Committee’s #Volume5 counterintelligence report into Russian interference. Wow! These 100 pages are a break the glass moment. Israel? Just, just wow. Please read this report for yourself and draw your own conclusions.
Pg 702 Continuing in the PsyOps vein, we’re introduced to a name you should know for many, all bad, reasons. George Nader set up a meeting in the Seychelles in attempt to create a back channel to the Russians using UAE and Secy Ed DeVos’ brother a Erik Prince. That’s not all... Image
Nader has been convicted of child trafficking and pornography. This is the kind of man the president had working to get him elected and working to create a secure, discreet channel to speak with Putin. You can read this tweet 1000 times and it never gets better.

THREAD 7 pages 601-700 of the 966 page Senate Intelligence Committee’s #Volume5 counterintelligence report into Russian interference. In these pages we learn about more about what Butina was up to. Buckle up. Please read this report for yourself and draw your own conclusions.
Pg 602 We are still walking through Maria Butina’s operation. A main imperative was to make and retain contacts at the highest level of the Republican Party. She was also making in roads with the NRA. Which Republican Party leaders? Ron Johnson? Scott Walker? They’re from WI. Image
Let’s remind ourselves of some dots. A Russian agent, Konstantin Kilimnik, was given trump campaign data by Paul Manafort. Did data show a chance in Wisconsin among NRA voters? Is that why Russian agent Butina was so interested in WI Republican Party leaders? trump won Wisconsin.

THREAD 6 pages 501-600 of the 966 page Senate Intelligence Committee’s #Volume5 counterintelligence report into Russian interference. In these pages we learn of many tentacles Russian intel had in trump campaign. Please read this report for yourself and draw your own conclusions.
Pg 508. While Papadopolous was trying to get a meeting between trump and Putin, at least one member of the trump inner circle knew enough to question whether there might be any legal implications for private citizens working with foreign governments. Michael Flynn, didn’t know? Image
Pg 509 is for anyone who claims there was no proper predicate to investigate Papadopoulis for liaising with foreign help to establish ties to Putin. This seems like a good reason to see what he was up to. Even if the reason they investigated was to see what Mifsud was up to. Image

THREAD 5 pages 401-500 of the 966 page Senate Intelligence Committee’s #Volume5 counterintelligence report into Russian interference. In this section we learn about relationships between trump and Russians. Please read this report for yourself and draw your own conclusions.
👇🏻
Pg408 is one for the history books. Not only do we see Russia intelligence agent Akmetshin attend a party with republican Congressman Dana Rohrabacher on Inauguration Day, there is admission of ‘friendly news outlets’ and a Russian agent coordinating testimony with jr’s attorney Image
Pg 410 one harkens back to page 375 where a Russian knew trump would be running for President before Americans. Turns out that Russian was found to be a bot developer who participated in online influence campaigns. The republican led senate intel cmte ‘have significant concerns.’ Image

THREAD 4 pages 301-400 of the 966 page Senate Intelligence Committee’s #Volume5 counterintelligence report into Russian interference. The June 9th trump tower meeting is in these 100 pages. I hope you will read them for yourself and arrive at your own conclusions.
👇🏻
Pg 302 read the footnotes. Agalarov hired trump’s translator for a trip he took to Moscow when he put on the Miss Universe pageant. The same Agalarov that would show up with ‘translators’ to the trump tower meeting with jr, Kushner and Manafort June 9th to deliver dirt on HRC. Image
Pg 319 remember that time trump said he had no dealings with Russia? That he was unaware of plans for a trump tower Moscow? Also, remember how his signature looks like a seismograph reading an earthquake? Maybe he lied about that. This is from 2013. Image

Pg 204 Remember when Republicans screamed about how it was CrowdStrike who had hacked info on Ukraine server and not the Russians? Were they knowingly using Russian propaganda to distract us during Impeachment? Were they unwitting? Perhaps the Ethics Committee could ask. Image
Pg 208 ‘If this were a war, this is like knowing where the troops are deployed’. Think about what this means. trump campaign could flood the market with ads against HRC based on where she thought she could reach voters. Image

So the long anticipated and much hyped Senate Intel Cmte Volume 5 is out.

I am starting with the recommendations.

intelligence.senate.gov/sites/default/…

1/
This part is interesting:

One of the ways foreign actors influenced the election was through “a private entity intertwined with the structures of democracy.”

#Volume5

2/
This has to do with Flynn, who lied to the FBI about subverting the acting President’s foreign policy, which he also did not take notes about because he knew what he was doing was problematic.
