We tend to use these WordPress adoption numbers everywhere (such as 43% of the web, etc.). These are numbers to be proud of, but imho not KPIs to lead the way. Let's dig into some of the data behind these figures...
I looked at the new WP sites detected in the last quarter (within the Top 100k of global sites — as this is generally a decent scope for enterprise). I feel this is the closest representation of what is happening "now" in terms of traction...
Diversity is an ongoing commitment, fostering inclusivity requires continuous effort & awareness. Let's make #WordCamps more representative & inclusive!

First off, pack light & casual my friends. Although this can be considered a work conference it's still very casual. Pull out your fav gym shoes & sandals, I over-packed & can be fashionably extra 💅🏾 but t'was a waste. There were many outfits & shoes that didn't come out. 2/11
2. Check the #WCUS site prior & SIGN UP for those classes! Check the site early to see what classes they are offering & who is speaking, use that to build an itinerary for each day. They are dropping gems💎, honey. From amateur to experience there's something for everyone. 3/11

By end of 2019 WordPress will be dropping a bunch of #PHP support.

But also we're teaching users to keep PHP up to date. #WCUS
Yes I wish we were going to 7.1 but the foundations to keep updating is getting set. So proud of the team who have been working on it. 💪

My bad as @TacoVerdo pointed out it's PHP7 rather than 7.0.
Talked to the team and we could aim for PHP7.2.
