Sunday marked 100 days since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, a devastating decision that has left millions struggling to access essential abortion care.

We’ve broken down the repercussions of this decision over the last 100 days, by the numbers. 🧵⬇️
People across the U.S. seeking abortions are being forced to cross state lines, traveling hundreds of miles to access essential care.

Consequently, clinics in states where abortion is legal have become inundated with out-of-state patients.
We continue to #ActForAbortionAccess in support of #WHPA and the EACH Act. These two bills are critical to ensure that people can get the health care they need and MUST be passed by Congress. 📣

Right now, the House Judiciary Committee is having a hearing on "the Threat to Individual Freedoms in a Post-Roe World." Our liberties are at stake. Watch and listen here: judiciary.house.gov/calendar/event…
Chairman Nadler makes it clear: conservative judicial activists on the Supreme Court are threatening our arc towards progress and collective freedom. Under the reasoning of the Dobbs decision, other individual freedoms are under attack.
Of course Rep. Jordan (1) cites the Court's opinion cabining the impact to the right to abortion as though they didn't pull the same bait and switch with the ACA birth control cases, (2) mischaracterizes WHPA, and (3) cries about people being upset with the Justices.

For 49 years, Liberty's torch shone to ensure basic human dignity to women and their choices.

Now, #TeamCoup wants to roll back the clock to snuff out our torch.

#TeamYOU trusts you to make decisions for your body, your life, your family. Time to choose.

#WHPA #RoeVWade #GMW4U
Over and over, Americans have had to stand up for their basic rights.

Today, #TeamCoup wants to control women's bodies. They won't stop there.

Time to stand up, fight back, and vote with #TeamYOU for the rights of ALL of us.

#WHPA #RoeVWade #GMW4U
Americans understand that we make choices for and as part of our families.

But a radical few don't trust us. #TeamCoup Justices want control over women's bodies and all our families.

Reject the power grab. Stand—and vote—with #TeamYOU for freedom.

When I got my abortion Roe v. Wade didn’t exist. I had to travel to Juárez, Mexico with $200 to a back-alley clinic.
I knew for many Black women and girls septic abortions were a leading cause of death. I was fearful and worried, but thankfully I survived.
I know firsthand what life was like without Roe v. Wade but most young people don’t—and they shouldn’t have to.

We can’t go back. We need to organize, organize, organize and pass the #WHPA.

During this press conference, @SenSchumer made one of the most stomach churning claims I’ve heard about abortion. He claimed that pro-laws “largely fly in the face of public opinion, common sense, and frankly, common decency.”

Get ready for a 🧵 on why that’s so wrong!
Pro-life laws regulating and/or restricting abortion are NOT, for most part, against public opinion. The most recent @maristpoll/@KofC poll released last month shows that 71% of Americans want aborted restricted. kofc.org/en/resources/c…
It’s particularly worth highlighting late-term abortion, as #WHPA would’ve legalized abortion until birth, making @SenSchumer’s comments particularly appalling. Here’s link of former abortionist explaining late-term induction method in @LiveAction project. abortionprocedures.com/induction/

Today, the Senate will vote on the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would safeguard abortion care from restrictions across the U.S. If enacted, #WHPA would protect this critical care, even if #RoevWade falls.

Here’s what the data says about why access to abortion matters.⬇️
Our #TurnawayStudy found that women who are denied an abortion suffer significant negative consequences, compared to those who get the abortion they seek:
In the #TurnawayStudy, we followed 1,000 women over five years after they sought an abortion. We tracked their physical & mental health, finances, family relationships, & career aspirations. This infographic sums up what we found. ansirh.org/research/infog…

🚨 At around midnight last night, the Supreme Court denied the emergency request to block #SB8, Texas’ draconian, dystopian ban on abortion. So what does that mean? We’ve got a short 🧵 for you to explain. #SCOTUS 1/8
The bottom line is that #SB8 is law—for now. Devastatingly, this means most abortion is banned in the state—for now. Abortion is banned at about 6 weeks into pregnancy, well before many people even know they’re pregnant, since it’s only 2 weeks after a missed period. 2/8
And as usual, #SB8 will most directly harm people who are already the most vulnerable. That includes LGBTQ+ people, people in rural areas, BIPOC people, and those with low incomes. This is by design, because the cruelty of this law is so clearly the point. 3/8
