It’s important to us to release our #DecolonisingTheInternetEastAfrica report today on International Women Human Rights Defenders Day. It’s #16DaysOfActivism2022, and this report is a celebration of the #WHRDs who teach and guide us – some of whom were with us in Zambia. ✊🏿

Caught dead talking and strategizing with them. It’s 2022, #SRHR are under severe backlash and constant threat, yet the artisans of said backlash have access to mainstream strategic conversations and briefings. They now benefit from several platforms from which they can reinforce
Their anti #SRHR messages, in seemingly all impunity. To me this highlight two things: how conservative populist gvts have relied on these orgs to access power and rewarding them for their support by giving them time and space and how these orgs have instrumentalized human rights
