Did you know that military families frequently struggle with debt — and when they do, it raises their risk for depression, substance abuse and suicide? That equation affects a lot of people in the communities our newsrooms serve — and it’s one we can help change. 
We’ve launched The #WarWithin Initiative in partnership with @RIPMedicalDebt, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that buys medical debt in bulk, for pennies on the dollar — and erases it.
@RIPMedicalDebt The money we raise will be used specifically to buy and abolish the medical debt of servicemembers, veterans and their families around the country. Each family we help will receive a letter telling them their debt has been forgiven, and they never have to worry about it again.
