I've been getting a lot of messages from folks asking about how and where to get @webflow design and dev clients. So I decided to put this thread with quick tips and a few good places you can look for opportunities.

Starting with TIPS: 🧵
TIP 1: Keep your portfolio in shape. In fact, you don't even need a portfolio website. You can use your own Webflow public profile. Create 3-5 fake / passion projects showing your skills and publish on "Made in Webflow". If you get featured, there's a big potential for leads!
TIP 2: Make it easy to find you online. Pick one or two social media that you can focus your attention, keep your profile in shape, and then have an easy CTA for email / calendly.

Some people DM'ed me asking questions about how I get clients. I'm far from mastering the game, but I'm happy with my results so far. So I decided to talk about my journey as a @webflow freelancer.

Bear with me, LONG thread. 🧵
1. First of all, I'm into Webflow design / dev for around 7-8 months. But before that, I did a mix of things for the past 11 years - graphic design, branding, then jumped to dev work (frontend, backend, then "full-stack" dev doing WP stuff). So I got some previous experience.
2. As a full-stack dev doing WP stuff, I was not happy. Don't get me wrong, WP is awesome and empowers a lot of people out there. But my work was boring, focused on building software, limited by hourly rates. I was missing being creative, do more visual stuff, being free.

The most common dms that I get from people who want to get into @webflow is - "Tell us how we can learn webflow"

While there's no perfect roadmap to it but here are the things that worked for me as well as my team very well.

So here's a roadmap, a thread 🧵
1. Start by learning basics of html and css to make the learning process of webflow really easy for you.

The best place that I would recommend is a playlist by @VarunMayya

His way of teaching is one of the best.

youtube.com/playlist?list=…
2. Next up, start learning the basics of webflow from webflow university just to get an idea about the elements that are there on webflow's designer interface.

On this link, for now, just complete "elements" category and you can leave the rest for now.

Here’s how @webflow changed
my entire web design business.

A THREAD //
About 2.5 years ago, I’d found out about @webflow from a video by @ransegall on YouTube.

Now, at first I was skeptical.

“Meh, just another site builder without full control, this looks ok. Let me stick to Wordpress and be on my way.
Then, I saw a few more videos and was a bit intrigued:

- ok, no plugins, not bad
- custom databases and CMS, cool
- designer and editor look interesting...

Know what, I gotta rebuild my personal site, let me just try this out...

So, I headed to the template platform...

⚡️Let's talk about @webflow 's branding 💻

Webflow is a visual editor platform that allows users to design, build, and launch websites.

Thread ⬇️
Webflow doesn't have core values, because they believe values mean nothing without action.

So let's see how they manage to keep them.
Webflow is an innovative idea that many people can be reluctant at.

But they knew this, so they had to make everything look easy to use.

The best way? Tutorials.

And they are not just any tutorials.
