The first thing to say is that Jesus did not look like that. We don't know what he looked like (the Gospels are silent about that) but we know that he wasn't white. He's known as "Jesus of Nazareth," after all, which means he came from a small (200-400 person) town in Galilee...
As the Rev. John Meier says in his magisterial book, "A Marginal Jew," about the historical Jesus, were we to see Jesus today we might be shocked, given the European images we're used to. Just look at men in Galilee today to begin to understand what he might have looked like...

Once again...where does someone with these beliefs go to church? What is she hearing from the pulpit or in Bible studies? "Pious irrelevancies and sanctimonious trivialities" will not uproot the corrupt theology that justifies racism and white supremacy.

Although the woman who said "Christian race" would likely say she simply misspoke, it's a telling phrase. She subtly conflates religion and race to imply that Christian = white. This is a major reason why Black churches and denominations exist.
