We must discuss the facts. Worldwide prematurity is the number one cause of death in the first month of life and the 2nd leading cause of death for children < 5 years. How this isn't being discussed daily by our so called "pro-life" government says it all.
1 in 10 births in the United States are premature. While most are what we call late preterm births (34 weeks to 36 weeks and 6 days) and they do have fewer complications than babies born very early, they have more complications than babies born at term.
