After making a remarkable recovery in just two years, he realised there wasn’t any technology to help people with the paralytic, mental or mobility issues.⁠
Subhasis, at the age of 43, joined a Biomedical Engineering programme and came up with SynPhNe, a wearable device that trains the brain and muscles. ⁠

1. #Ischemic stroke: due to blockage of a blood vessel in the brain

2. #Hemorrhagic stroke: due to bleeding directly into the brain or into the space between the membranes that cover it (meninges)
These 8 factors can make you more likely to have stroke

1. High blood pressure: No. 1
2. Obesity
3. Diabetes
4. Smoking
5. High blood cholesterol
6. Kidney disease
7. Irregular heart beat (atrial fibrillation)
8. Previous mini-stroke (stroke symptoms that lasted less than 24hrs)

Here are four essential facts about stroke:

1. Stroke is what occurs when blood flow to the brain is obstructed (usually by a blood clot) and the cells in the brain begin to die, or when there is bleeding in the brain.
2. Stroke has a cause. It isn’t just a disease that occurs to anyone. There are actually factors that constitute risk that predisposes a person to stroke.

Some of these factors are:
•High blood pressure
•High salt diet
•Being overweight
