Curtis was loyal, just like a certain redhead. I wonder if he and Nicole had more in common than we know. #WhereEarpGoesWeGo #WynonnaEarp #BringWynonnaHome

The show @WynonnaEarp was meaningful for the representation of queer women on TV.

Even in the context of TV’s long history of offing LGBTQ characters, the numbers were grim: according to a 2016 tally by @glaad, more than 25 queer women died on scripted TV and streaming shows in that year alone.

Last week was one of those weeks when everyone on the Autostraddle TV & Film Team was just out here doing what they love and doing it so brilliantly it was a joy to watch. I love these humans so much. Here's a thread of our week.
First of all, this roundtable where I made everyone confidently describe a gay TV show they've never seen—do yourself a hilarious favor and watch @PunkyStarshine mash-up Star Trek and BSG, and @natthedem mash-up Buffy and Save the Last Dance. bit.ly/31z5yZp

Now that all of the Canadian networks have unveiled their primetime schedules for next season, can we talk about how utterly disappointing it is to see so few scripted Canadian TV originals on the schedules?
Other than @CBC, there are absolutely ZERO scripted Canadian originals this fall. CTV is holding both the new drama @TransplantCTV and hit series @CardinalCTV until midseason. Same for Corus with the upcoming #Nurses.
One thing I've learned covering #Cdntv over the past few years is how MUCH talent exists BTS in this industry. There are so many great voices and ideas out there just waiting to be tapped. I really wish networks would invest in that because it all has a trickle down effect too.
