Lots of misinformation about MI Prop 3 being put out there, we can start by breaking this one down and debunking it. Image
1. Gender Reassignment is not mentioned anywhere in prop 3. This is a surgery that requires significant paperwork, prior authorization and parental consent. Language like this is used deliberately without any factual base to incite anger at an already marginalized group.
2. What the sign is attempting to attack is Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy (GAHT, also sometimes called HRT). This is not a surgical procedure and requires less paperwork. However, this is generally not available before the age of 18 even with parental consent.

I know I have some followers who are planning to go in tomorrow and quietly fill in a circle next to Baker/Polito here in Massachusetts. Let me suggest why you should choose otherwise.
I think it’s been pretty easy if you’re a white/middle(or higher) class/cisgender/otherwise comfortable person to kinda cruise during this administration. You’re still not directly threatened.
And so you can go with the “Baker the manager” and “Massachusetts with checks and balances” line that I’ve seen going around a lot.

No matter where you live, you should be demanding that candidates for Congress pledge to support the Equality Act, a bill that would fill significant gaps in legal protections for LGBTQ people nationwide, as well as update protections for women and people of color.
