Why are engineers and technologists running vaccination in #india @drharshvardhan @PMOIndia ? The #cowin portal leads to exclusion of those who don't have smart phones, aren't tech savvy, are women, have data packs. Don't you see ground realities before coming out with policies?
Also please refer us to the official document which is not an FAQ that mandates #cowin for vaccination
Until recently #cowin was only available in English. India isn't Bangalore.

Our analysis reveals that the #SourceCode that has been released as the “backend code” is grossly incomplete. Though any effort at transparency needs to be lauded, much of how the @SetuAarogya operates is still opaque…
@NICMeity @GoI_MeitY
The code released on 20th November does contain code that corresponds to the #frontend of the website and the code released also contains code that lets the website interact with the application through the #webview.
#COVID19 #ContactTracing
However, some of the libraries/modules that the code depends on have not been released and very little of the released code is meant to run on the #backend.

SCOOP | @OfficialSauravD reveals, based on RTI replies, that vital data protection safeguards that @NICMeity was supposed to ensure under the govt's own #AarogyaSetu Protocol, have not been implemented, 6 months since its release.

These include:

1) The requirement for NIC to maintain a list of all those entities with which data has been shared (Para 6(c))
2) The requirement for all those entities with whom the data was shared to have reasonable security practices and procedures in place (Para 7(a))

#AarogyaSetu #ArogyaSetu #தள்ளாடும்_தமிழகம்

28th October 2020.

Just like nobody knows what is being done in the #PMCaresFund, nobody seems to know who made Arogya Setu App, made it compulsory and then collected the data of millions of Indians, tracking them on a daily basis.
Responding to an RTI, all the departments that were running, advertising, handling, providing infrastructure, etc. this app have returned a 'We Don't Know' response.

Perhaps for the first time in the history of the country, nobody knows what's going on!
Look at Aadhar. It was a UID Unique Identification Database which assigned a Unique number to a person who was in India on the basis of existing documents, including Ration Card, Electricity Bill, Apartment Registration details, Leave and License Agreement Details, etc.

Still exploring how #AarogyaSetu data could be used for non-CoVid purposes

It can be used for population spread estimates, crowding in critical places n also in negative way (spying on army bases)

Ex: At 3 PM, 11964 users were in 500 m of Majestic (Bengaluru)
At 7:30 PM -11068!
Negative way: If we use a simple fake GPS application, then we can get number of Aarogya Setu users in and around militarily camps in sensitive areas like Pangong Tso
(numbers and locations slightly adjusted)
When triangulated better (and if we're patient),Buildings which are giving numbers are coming out (snapshot)

Soln: We can black out info from sensitive places or we can issue orders to Army folks not to use Aarogya Setu

Similarly I was traingulating for Wagah, Galwan, Pathankot

#Thread: The Indian government on Aug 27 released a data management policy for National Digital Health Mission. The policy is a framework for how data with the mission, by hospitals, health companies, startups, etc, will be governed. #DigitalHealth 1/n…
The government has given only ONE WEEK for the public to respond to and give their inputs on the policy. It’s a blatant deadline and goes against the spirit of consultative policy making. 2/n…
A week is not enough for civil society to respond to concerns, or for businesses to weigh cost-benefit. In fact, it violates the govt’s own Pre-Legislative Consultative Policy, which requires a 30-day consultation period for policies released by govt ministries/departments: 3/n

A repairman came home. On a whim I asked if he had the @SetuAarogya #app. His status showed 'Mild Risk of Infection'. Would you fly, board a train, metro or enter a mall, shop with someone whose #Setu app indicates 'Risk of Infection'? (Should the #AarogyaSetuApp be mandatory?) Image
Frankly @PMOIndia/ @drharshvardhan need to direct officials to give details of @SetuAarogya #app: pros & cons. What does 'Moderate Risk of Infection' actually mean? Should such individuals be sent to homes to carry out repairs or stay at home till 'Green'? What about 'High Risk'?
What is the exact nature of risk posed by someone whose @SetuAarogya #app shows varying risk of infection' ? In an office, bus, metro, train, aircraft, mall or market? Govt must clarify if it wants people to take the #AarogyaSetu app seriously. Politics apart, this is safety 1st.

1/ Force people to install a mobile app doesn’t make any sense. When you publish an app, the main metric you should look at is the number of people who are using your app, not the number of downloads.

You want to create a community, a group of people who regularly use your app.
2/ If you app is good enough, people will use your app everyday. The next metric you will look at is the retention. You want the users to come back to your app everyday during a long time (forever if possible). For that, your app need to be really useful (Waze, WhatsApp, ...)
3/ If your app has some in app purchases, your “addicted users” are the target. You want them to improve their everyday experience by buying this small pack at only 4.99€.

Brother in law found #Covid_19 positive in #Gurugram after he got in contact with his colleague at #punjabnationalbank. Here's his journey of trauma of testing & isolation in Gurgaon.
Step1: called all govt. helplines, #AarogyaSetu helplines, and update record on govt. Apps
But no communication by any govt. Department for next 2 days.
Step 2- Finally after waiting for 2 days for any communication decided to go a private hospital for testing.
#coronavirus test charges Rs. 4,900/- ( wondering how will any little income group person will get tested)
Step 3- Test result came and he was declared #Covid19 Positive. Entire family is worried.
Step 4- again updated record on #AarogyaSetuApp and called all govt. Helplines for treatment, guidance... Tada ... No response

Step 4: After over 50 calls and wait for 1 day, finally one

1/ Go through this tweets thread👇(especially don’t miss 11/ in this thread) to understand how persons like @fs0c131y are running #propaganda against our govt apps.
It will explain how for famous govt apps claims of #hacking or security issues are made while hiding the #reality
2/ First thing is you have to look like a pro hacker like those you see in movies or web series
—> yes you thought it right! You can even use name of a famous fictional character from web series or movies say #ElliotAlderson in #MrRobot web series. How cool that is! Isn’t it?🤔
3/ To look more cool 😎 hacker
—> You need some fancy terminal and fancy font. Powerline font and Oh-my-zsh with the Agnoster theme would be cool.
—> use curl for making requests to app server (you can even avoid posting the response in case you did not get desired response 😂)

A mobile application that send your GPS coordinates regurlaly to a server owned by a government is a surveillance system.

#AarogyaSetu is a surveillance system
Do you have to worry?

When a government is forcing people to install an app, it's probably the good moment to be worry
"It's not an issue, it's a feature of the app" 🤪

Yes, by design, #AarogyaSetu is a surveillance system. They don't care about the user privacy. But, in theory, give the ability to know if your neighboor is sick is not a feature of the app.
