In honor of #BlackHistoryMonth , we are highlighting some of the work done by our #ABCT members. Today’s featured psychologist is Dr. Krystal Lewis (@DrKrystalLewis), a Clinical Psychologist and Co-Director of Education with the Emotion and Development Branch at the @NIMHgov. 
Dr. @DrKrystalLewis specializes in exposure-based CBT for pediatric anxiety. Additionally, she currently serves as the #ABCT Associate Program Chair. Dr. Lewis is passionate about training, mentoring and the provision of evidence-informed and culturally responsive care. #CBTworks

Specific examples offered here include treatment of those on ASD spectrum, individuals experiencing psychosis, weight stigma, and “the ease with which we’ve used bell-curve sorting of individuals to define things as abnormal” [2/n]
The point that “we are swimming in a cultural stream that makes it hard to see and know” is an important one. I think we need to practice humility (as a field) and be intentional + deliberate + active in giving consideration to what we may not be seeing + knowing now [3/n]
'Pulling #consumption forward' is an unhelpful euphemism for 'engaging in #capital consumption': more graphically, 'writing cheques the people can't cash'.
Self-sustaining #growth requires coherence between consumption & production not just today, but over time.

That latter is difficult enough to achieve without #centralbankers & policy-makers in general trying to impose their own vision of the balance (one always narrowly biased to the present) on a system composed of billions of interacting needs & preferences.
