1/4 In the coming days, people who've been dehumanized & have dehumanized others are going to be rounded-up by the cops in #ottcity. There are children who may be separated from their parents right in front of their eyes or from afar by jail walls. Human beings may die.
2/4 This isn't a time for popcorn, champagne popping & celebration. This isn't a time for #CarceralEnjoyments. This is a time where we're bearing witness to harm in response to harm and we need to summon our better angels to resist our worst instincts.
3/4 It's critical that even in the most challenging times that we continue to imagine, strive for & try to build a future where solidarity is premised on equity, inclusion, collective responsibility, real safety, joy & liberation for all, not othering.
