Summary of #ShriBhagwadGita Adhyay 15-पुरुषोत्तमयोग

This chapter summarizes the entire essence of not just Gita but also all the Vedas. It covers four topics:what is the world, who Krishna is, what is God and what is relationship between him, the world and God.(1/7)
Our existence in this world is illustrated using an upside down tree. The root of this tree is God, wielding the power of Prakriti, the Brahman, the eternal essence with attributes. Our existence in this world, is the outward growth of the tree.(2/7)
This growth is fueled by sense objects which are in the form off sprouts or buds. Each sense object guarantees desires, which generates actions, which binds us to rhe branches of the tree. The only way to get rid of the endless cycle of desire and action is(continue..)(3.1/7)

Summary of #ShreeBhagwatGita Adhyay 14- गुणत्रयविभागयोग

The three gunas sattva, rajas, and tamas are based upon a person's disposition. The gunas keep the eternal Self bound to the physical body. Sattva binds by attachment to knowledge and joy(continue...)(1.1/5)
...rajas by passion and activity, and tamas by laziness and sleep. Of the three, sattva has the power to uplift a person and lead to enlightenment because it is connected to wisdom. The other two create stasis, or drag a person down.(1.2/5)
Conversely, sattva without attachment can help a person leave the cycle of death and rebirth(attain moksh). Krishna names sattva as the "ruling trait" of a person who is on the path of understanding and knowledge.(2/5)

After witnessing this terrifying form of Krishna Arjuna asked him "who are you?" To which Krishna responds that he is the death and that Arjuna must fight in the battle because the kauravas will die regardless. Krishna has already killed them, Arjuna is merely the medium.(3/6)

Krishna tells Arjuna that he's the Supreme manifestation of God.All other gods and spiritualistic humans are the manifestation of him.The highest form of worship is to enter state of divinity and to consider him the Supreme.(1/6)

Summary of #ShreeBhagwatGita Adhyay 8- अक्षरब्रह्मयोग

Arjuna asks Krishna to tell him about the nature of the Self, God, and action. He also asks Krishna to explain worship and how to be with God at the time of death. Krishna explains that true freedom is "union with God."(1/5)
When all things are destroyed with cycling of the universe, primal existence is what remains. Krishna says men who reach this state, which he calls "supreme dwelling," will not be reborn again(as he would attain moksh). He calls each of these rare individuals a Supreme Being.(2/5)
A yogic person mediates on the nature of the Self and God as existing beyond the body, mind, and senses as a supreme, unchanging soul.Through meditating upon this supreme soul or Krishna, that person will achieve freedom. They will be unattached to either suffering or serenity.(3/5)

Summary of #ShreeBhagwatGita Adhyay 5- कर्मसंन्यासयोग
Arjuna asks Krishna whether the path of renunciation(sanyasa)or the path of action(karma) is better for him. Krishna replies that both paths are good but that the path of karma yoga is more direct. (1/7)
The path of renunciation and the path of action both lead to the Self, if practiced deeply.Ignorance of the Self is what causes men to "act badly."  Krishna insists that one must understand that the Self at the core of all beings is the same.(2/7)
Shri Krishna talks about "equality" when he says:
"इहैव तैर्जित: सर्गो येषां साम्ये स्थितं मन: |

Summary of #ShreeBhagwatGita Adhyay 3- कर्मयोग
Arjuna asks why Krishna seems to advocate the path of knowledge and understanding while pushing Arjuna to do action. Krishna then explains two paths:knowledge and action(karma).(1/6)
Some people are suited to the first path, and others to the second path. Krishna proposes that right action is another form of worship and that only by doing necessary and right action can the Self find freedom. He himself engages in action despite needing or desiring nothing(2/6)
Arjuna then asks Krishna what drives men to evil action. Krishna explains they are driven by the guna called rajas, or the quality that includes passion and violence. The presence of too much of this guna causes people to act out of desire and anger, thus causing evil action(3/6)

Summary of Adhyay 2-One of the most important Adhayay of #ShreeBhagwatGita- कर्मयोग
Krishna responds to Arjuna by arguing that such timidity at this moment is "unworthy of a noble mind." Still, Arjuna insists that he cannot bear the thought of killing his kinsmen (1/6)
Moving further, Shree krishna gives an explanation about Aatma(soul). Krishna explains that Arjuna's "sorrow is sheer delusion" because physical sensations are transitory just as life and death are transitory. Everything that exists has always existed.(2/6)
Aatma never dies, it just pass from one body to the next in each life. It is only the body that can die. Krishna insists that his duty in this life is a warrior's duty. Hence, Arjun must live to his highest potential by fulfilling his duty.(3/6)

The root cause of all sorrow and suffering in this world is our inability to deal with conflict.. Conflict is everywhere, and we have to learn to handle it. (1/7)
The sooner we recognize this universal truth about conflict and its impact, the sooner we can progress in our personal, professional, and ultimately, spiritual journeys. We experience conflict at three levels – material, mental and spiritual.(2/7)
When confronting the material conflict of battle, Arjun’s rational mind was clear he was a warrior, and he had entered the battlefield to fight a war against the enemy for a just cause. But, upon seeing his family on the enemy side, his rational mind became conflicted.(3/7)

Adhik Maas – A Month to Improve Yourself

1/n
The Science behind this month:

Indian #Panchang is based on the movement of #sun and #moon, that’s why it is called Lunisolar Panchang. As per the movement of the moon, one month is equal to 29.53 days and a lunar year Image
2/n

is equal to 354.37 days. A sun year is equal to 365 days. It means there is a difference of approximately 10 days between a lunar year and sun year. In three years, this difference becomes of 30 days, hence after every 3 years, one lunar month is added to the calendar.
3/n

To be precise, this lunar month is added after 32 months, 16 days and 8 hours to keep lunar and solar calendars aligned.

What This Month Means-
This ‘extra’ or added month is called #Adhikmaas, or #PurushottamMaas. This Adhik Maas is dedicated to Shri Hari Vishnu.
